Arsenal are contacting scouts in the area to get them to send their talented kids for trials at the Arsenal academy. ****ers. http://www.playthearsenalway.com/eastyorkshire/others/coaches.html
They couldnt sign for them until they were 16 anyway as you have to live within an hour of the clubs academy ground (or at least these were the rules when i was playing junior football) all it is, is a holiday camp branded with Arsenal logos. Although i did enjoy the title
quote from the email "The Advanced Training Centre is for players who show potential to have a career in professional football." It's a Training Development centre, they are giving parents the carrot of their kids being a pro, quite ridiculous really has the chances of one actually making it even to arsenal's academy are very remote. But Stupid parents will think there kids are training with arsenal. In reality as cumbrian tiger said it's a glorified training camp, lining some bloke's pocket.but it will affect local kids going to City's academy, if arsenal are doing it when will the others arrive. we already have TWS and Scunny with centres. The FA needs to look at this for the benefit of the kids more than anything else, as the same kids will just pass from centre from centre with false hope each time. City need to improve their development centers and look at strengthening their ties with local leagues/clubs to beat off the competition.
Funny how "the Arsenal Way" doesn't include anything about kicking lumps out of the opposition and having one of the worst disciplinary records in the premier league or defending a one nil lead like the Arsenal of old.
City should ban those coaches who are still using our centre of excellence whilst being involved in the Arsenal venture or make them choose which to continue with. We badly need to get up to speed with youth development as I think we are still league 1 in that department.
I know I'm in a minority of 1 but I actually think its a pathetic title which perpetuates a horrible and totally unjustified slur on Wenger's reputation. And yes, Arsenal are my second team! (we lived for nearly 20 years within half a mile of the old Highbury) Oh and if anyone thinks that they are the only Premiership team recruiting promising young footballers nationwide (and that included Hull last time I looked at the map) they are very naive.
The story is of little interest, I used it merely as an excuse to post the headline. A headline I make no apology for, as I can't stand the bloke and this a Hull City forum and I'm glad it offended you, it serves you right for having a second team.
OLM double checked what you were on about, and, like Arsene, I did not see the incident either!!! But if the dirty bastard was to spit on me, he would be drinking soup through a straw, still!!
