Delighted with the three points tonight. You could see the impact Gerrard had... Top-class. Bellamy was also excellent. I shall wish Newcastle all the best for the rest of the season. (Apart from the return fixture!)
What a load of tripe. Played the game right into their hands. ****ing Sky egging them on for the win the whole time didn't help either.
This! No idea why we kept playing hoofball throughout the whole game, bizarre tactical idea. Tiote's passing was total **** today too and generally we just lacked any single player having a particularly good game.
Good thread Newcastle fans, good luck for the season other than the game against us. Gerrard had a great game, nice to have him back.
Glad we got the win, brilliant performance from Steven Gerrard and so glad to see Bellamy hit two, and Henderson to get an assist! We fought back from behind which is an important point to make about this game, we had fighting power. And also staying power! Brilliant goal-line clearance from Skrtel! Embarrassingly I went "Bellamy!!??" when he stepped up for the free kick, expecting Gerrard to take it, admittedly I did half expect a goal then as I'd jinxed it! Bringing me onto: Glad to have jinxed Krul, wil look to do that more often!
To be honest we have played a lot better than that this season and only got a draw, so maybe our luck is changing Heads up Newcastle fans one or two players in and a few back from the treatment room and you will kick on again
all together now Steven Gerrard is our captain, Steven Gerrard is a red, Steven Gerrard plays for Liverpool, A Scouser born and bred.
well done lads. the better team. wasn't on here for the actual game but good thread banter and chat before hand too. cya at SJP!
Eugh MW3? BF3 ftw. And I think I jinxed Bellers' free by saying 'What? They're shooting - they couldn't score from he-"
Newcastle have some great aspects to their game. Colloccini is a beast and Ba is class for starters even if that nearly-goal was the only notable thing from him (not really his fault). At the end of the day you just aren't going to compete at Anfield when the 3 main supply lines for Ba are Vuckic, Obertan and a knackered Gutierez. If it hadn't been for your fluke goal we'd have cruised this completely. That's not to stick the boot in as i like your club and what you're doing, but when your centrebacks are far more comfortable on the ball than your creative players you will struggle to make an impression, and to be fair there was a lot of passing it around the defence before Krul launches it. You've picked up some great bargains the last 2 seasons, and if you invest a little to make sure those weaker players mentioned above are simply part of a better squad, then you'll do really well.
I realise you're probably fishing, but I completely agree with everything apart from the 'trying to injure real football players' bit which we know is not true.
