I don't know enough about him to get excited over a possible loan deal, like the majority of Leeds fans feel, it is not loan signings that we need but permanent ones of quality.
Even if he's quality & we manage to get him in Grayson probably wouldn't pick him. We had Bannan & Livermore last season who for some strange reason couldn't get a regular starting place, & those two are real class, so I can't see this guy being any different.
Its sometimes difficult to blend these youngsters in to your team in such a small space of time thats the reasonGradel was just that bit older and had fast experience of lower leagues . I still would go for Keityh Andrews for me he is what we are lackjing and can provide lots of goals but Ipswich are now back peddling because they are losing lots of money so we have a chance along with Blackburn wanting to ge trid at any cost
O'Dear gets a regular game for us and he's beyond crap so can you explain why someone so blatantly useless gets a game?
Townsend seems a decent player. I remember when Leyton Orient came to Elland Road and he ran the show despite Gradel getting us a sensational late winner. Got some experience at this level and he's apparently looked sharp in Europe so let's hope this is true. With Snoddy, Howson and Gradel all out of the picture (albeit temporarily for the first two), we need to get some attacking flair back and quick. As I said elsewhere, when scoring becomes a problem for us, our defence isn't there to fall back on and grind us out 0-0 draws which will keep us in the top half. We'll topple right down.
Baadif reckon they are going to get him :- http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/111265-Hello-Spurs 2nd page
Now joined, according to the official site: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120101/tottenham-star-joins-united_2247585_2562839 Welcome news.
Now opening this up to Spurs fans who might have some more insight into whether this lad will be any good for us?
Townsend usually plays on the left wing and has pace.He did well enough in europe, think he should do ok for you.Certainly not a bad player with experience could become very good.
Didn't see this one when I commented so I'll c+p the post here: In short, he's not a creative midfielder. He's a fast left winger who has a good cross on him and is technically gifted on both feet* but I wouldn't expect him to be a creative start of attacks, rather a target for attacking down the wings with his direct runs and willingness to take on defenders. I'm not sure if Ceballos is 17 yet but he, Mason and Carroll would be the creative midfielders you might be looking for. Often a loan deal like this can lead to more regular loanees heading to Leeds, we've got plenty available as we'd been using them in the Europa League which we are now out of. *see his goal with his right against Shamrock Rovers.
