So it looks like we may get Henry in as cover for Gervinho/Chamakh.

So who else should we be looking to bring into the team in January?

Vertonghen for me is one of the players who would improve our squad the most - he would give a large boost to the depth of our defence. Able to play effectively at CB, LB and DM. Although i am happy with the players we have - you can see from inuries that we end up a little thin on numbers fairly often so he would get game time i'm sure. I think he would make our back-line complete and we wouldn't have to change the defence for years to come.

Obviously a Goetze/Hazard etc would be nice but which players are out there who we could add to the squad who don't cost much but could make a big difference?

Vertonghen would be great but not sure he will leave Ajax now. Maybe a target for the summer.

I think both Vertoghen and Goetze should be our summer targets. Personally in Jan, I think we might see one or two loan deals and that's it.

    Both would be great signings.

If money is truely the issue (like some fans believe it is) then I think bringing in Thierry Henry and Gourcuff would be smart thinking.

Henry can still do a quality job as a impact sub (and cover for RVP) and Gourcuff is just the kind of player Wenger

The other reason signing Henry could be a good plan is that in the Summer we should have Joel campbell joining us who looks like he could be a potential world beater.

The other alternative would be Eden Hazard who can play anywhere across the front or even as an attacking mid.

Yep I think that might be it.

Wait for the inevitable cries of 'Wenger is ****' after the Jan window.

I can't see anything much happening apart from Henry coming in. We really need a left back too but it all depends if Wenger can get anyone in on the cheap...

So other than all the random useless crap spoken by most on here - let's see what sensible answers we have.

I agree with most that if we are going to get a Hazard/Gotze standard player it will be in the Summer.

I agree it'll probably only be Henry and maybe a loan deal for cover at the full-back positions.

I just wondered if anyone new of any players like Vertonghen who can cover a couple of positions and are of a good enough quality to make a good impact on the team but not of the standard where we pay extortionate fees for the players.

Would they be as keen to come if you ended up missing out on the CL? Waiting could backfire, especially if they continue to play well and other clubs become interested.

Wenger has announced he wont sign anyone else unless more players pick up injuries.

Pathetic. I hate how mediocre is now acceptable.

Henry would be a good loan signing as cover for Gervinho/Chamakh and RVP if he gets injured but we really need some defensive cover.
Bridge would be a good as he's got plenty of experience. That's if Mancini let's him come to us
