I heard that they placed a bid of 3m. According to my mate Huddersfield want around 8m for him. I don't think any club would want to take such a risk.
I would love Sharp or Sordell to come to the mighty saints, both would thieve of the services the rest of the team will give them. Maybe try and loan out a young exciting winger like Sterling who will add something different (look on youtube if you have not seen him) and maybe another CB to take some pressure off Hooiveld and Fonte.
He is an eighteen year old centre back at Grimsby who looks quite useful (he will play in a higher division), although I doubt we will sign him really. I'm afraid I just go to the football manager player list bash a few keys and pick the player with the closest name, it is about as accurate a method as most of the others at predicting transfer targets! Sorry if I got your hopes up (or reduced them!).
A few Saints players had question marks over whether they could perform at Championship level. Unless players get the opportunity you'll never know and they're more likely to be able to do the business as part of a strong and together squad of players. In my opinion Norwich and Swansea look stronger than QPR in the prem but neither have bought big stars but players who fit the team principles and who performed well in the championship and league 1. If a player is good enough to get goals in the championship and get promotion then he will be able to do a job in the premier league. If you take the top 8 clubs from the premier then the difference between the two leagues is not that big
Oh there's quite a big difference. Teams like Fulham,Stoke,Sunderland,WBA,Wolves are good sides. If we go up we will need to splash the cash on 3 or 4 premiership quality players to stay up and compete.

According to my Hull supporting mate (again) Sharp's agent has offered him to Hull and is trying to engineer a move there as that is his destination of choice. Mate doesn't know if Hull want him though.
Not 100% sure on Sordell. Seen him play a few times, looked all pace and little else although I understand the fuss must be coming from somewhere.
i believe that we are going for young hungry players thats why we re not going for maynard and sharp also i think that we are going to bring in two strikers due to the fact cono is gettin old and is injury prone lee barnard is have quite a bad injury spell which leave us with 2 strickers so if either gluy or lambert get injured then it could leave us in a sticky situation: I have became aware of intrest from saints in sordell and juwetz from watford and coventry. Also i have another transfer sorry if someone elese has put this on http://www.tribalfootball.com/artic...robbin-ruiter-2586431?utm_source=feed_newsnow maybe adkins has got a little cautious ove bart?? Happy new years
Presumably there will still be competition for him. The release price is just the starting bid, though the team of choice is the player's.
If we went for Lukas (which I don't believe we will), then we will have to sign another striker on top on him. Just like I've always said that Lambert, Connolly, Guly and Barnard wouldn't be enough, I also believe that Lambert, Connolly, Guly and Lukas wont be enough (sorry mate!). That certainly wouldn't be the case with Sharp or Rhodes though imo, and probably not the case with Maynard or even Sordell either. If Solent are correct about us not going for Sharp or Maynard, then I personally think we'll be going either to the Premiership or abroad for our striker (I've always suspected that Huddersfield will put an almighty price-tag on Rhodes, and we know Cortese won't pay stupid money). I don't think Cortese will want to a risk with this one. I think he'll want someone who he's very confident in being able to fire us into Premiership. No gambles.
'Lallana glad on Saints stay' is the Sky Sports headline today http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/7401306/Lallana-I-was-right-to-stay
It's all gone quite quiet on the Jay Rod front. Maybe we're going back in for him. I still think he'd be really good.
If the news from Radio Solent is to be believed and we are not after Maynard or Sharp. Who do you see/or who would you like us to go for? Personally I think Simeon Jackson would provide a perfect foil to Lambert and is also the goal poacher we need to start picking up a few more victories away. With his pace and eye for goal it would allow us to play a more counter attacking formation away from home. Would also give us a good impact player from the bench, which we have lacked a little since Waigo and Antonio. I know we have De Ridder but he seems more of a provider rather than goalscorer at the moment. http://youtu.be/Jwe84PKNdMc
