Wedges maybe? But then what do they call potato wedges ...?

I get annoyed when they drop letters in spelling ... like color, harbor and armor. What is their problem with the letter U anyway?

I'm not sure which browser you're using? But I know I changed the language of Chrome so it has Canadian/British spelling instead of the auto-american.

Although Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches are commonly called just that, people in North America almost always call it strawberry jam, peach jam, cherry jam, etc. Except non-fruit jams for whatever reason? I'll admit my dad talks about mint jelly, red pepper jelly, etc. but he learned that from his English mom.

I am now a convert to the ways of the 'jello' shot.

My ex was American and called jams 'jellies'.

The general problem with MLS strikers right now, or maybe always (I've really only paid attention to the MLS since we got a club in Toronto), is that the highest goalscorers are usually long in the tooth and in the twilights of their careers. So its hard to say whether they could step-up to cut it in the Premier League, and whether they need these months off to rest and prepare for the following MLS season.
That said, Wondolowski and Montero aren't too old.

I believe "jelly" is used to mean jam and "jello" is used for what we know as jelly.

Go to Options > Under the Bonnet (Maybe called 'Hood' if set to American English?) > Web Content > Language and Spellchecker Settings

I apologise, maybe its a difference between the US and Canada that I've just never noticed or paid enough attention to? Or maybe I don't even pay attention to my own friends in Canada? Huh...

    Cheers <ok>

True. Players like Saborio, Henry, Angel etc are old and living out their days on a high salary but there are others. Charlie Davies and Luke Rodgers are quite young, Brek Shea, whilst not a striker could certainly be used as a left winger and he got 11 goals last season. There's some decent youth players in the league, i'm sure many of them would benefit from a couple of Premier League or even Championship games to keep them sharp and so they can learn from the current greats rather than those there for a last big paycheck.

Oh for sure, I'd say thats generally the key to MLS, the best players are either the old, experienced stars who played the rest of their careers abroad (one exception being Derosario - can't believe he never got a chance overseas), or they're quite young - often from Central or South America and just hadn't been scouted yet, like Camilo or Joao Plata.

I think it is just a weird thing with preserves ... there is no consistency in the naming.

Take marmalade. Apparently it is called marmalade because we nicked the word from the Portuguese who make a similar preserve out of Clementines, which are known as Marmalos in Portugal, hence marmalade.

We then give the name to any preserve of similar kind irrespective of what fruit we use. Love a nice jar of Rose's Lime marmalos myself ...

... and why is it that round my neck of the woods any foodstuff wedged between two pieces of bread is known as a sandwich, unless it is chips or bacon in which case it is a buttie.

But the term buttie is used for most kinds of sandwich in some parts of the uk and sandwich is the exception? Very unconsistent!

Unless it is a cucumber one. I don't think anybody refers to cucumber buttie!
