I deduce that he must be youngish and have been promoted in the last few seasons, I'd say since we went up. So, that leaves Stoke, WBA, Newcastle, Norwich, QPR, Swansea Stoke: Delap, Pugh WBA: Dorrans, Gera Newcastle: Guthrie, QPR: Taarabt, Smith Swansea: Routledge, Gower Based on you not knowing what type of player he is, I reckon we can remove Gera, Taarabt and Routledge from that list. Is it Danny Pugh / any of the others mentioned?
As much as I like Turner I'm glad this isn't happening. If he came back he'd be expecting to be put into the first team straight away meaning Hobbs or Chester getting dropped, and given how they've played this season it would seem unfair and unnecessary to drop one of them so quickly. If we are to get a defender we should probably look at some one as back up who ha a bit of experience.
He's a fantastic player. Absolutely top class, i'd be surprised if he would go anywhere near Hull. But the further away from Ishmael Miller the better I guess..
This is true. Actually I've just done a bit of homework and he signed a contract until Summer 2014 in April. Unless he's really fallen out with Jol, i would be surprised if this happened. Maybe it's Niko Kranjcar or Steven Pienaar!! haha Josh McEachran would be another idea actually, very gifted player who has a similar role to what Barmby had. Could be a good match.
Think people are getting a bit carried away with this and need to downscale a bit! I'm sure players we bring in will fit in with the ethos of the existing side. Less caviar and more black pudding!
"..If he came back he'd be expecting to be put into the first team straight away meaning Hobbs or Chester getting dropped...." assuming that Chester isnt being moved on to create another £3 million to spend?
I'd like to see Mannone back he could be our number 1 keeper for years, and he loved it round here too, unlike a lot of footballers he seemed interested in other things rather than the usual nightlife etc
Always remember sniggering when the fail interviewed him just after he signed on and he said he was looking forward to being in Hull because he loved the seaside!!
It's a shame if that's true. I'm sure there are better players out there but I've always been confident he was going to come good for us. Having said that he does seem to be getting worse, if you watch the replay from Boro's winner, he definitely should have stopped Robson from shooting but totally gave up.
Probably not up to the standard that a lot of these pros from 'darn sarf' and abroad appreciate, I stopped clubbing three or four years back but the horrors of Pozition are still fresh in my mind Welly's probably still OK now and then but its not really the bright lights round here
