Martin O'Neill is set to watch Nyron Nosworthy play for Watford on Saturday as he ponders recalling some players from loan in January.

The Black Cats boss is taking stock of his available resources before the transfer window opens up and will go to Watford's match against Doncaster in preference to West Ham's clash with Derby - because George McCartney is suspended.
Sunderland currently have Nosworthy on loan at Watford, McCartney at West Ham, Cristian Riveros at Kayserispor, Asamoah Gyan at Al-Ain and Liam Noble at Carlisle United.
"You get to know the players more every week you work with them but obviously we are still at the learning stage in the first few weeks," he said.
"We have good players here already and I'm determined that everyone will get a chance at some stage to show what they can do and have an opportunity to push for a place in the first-team squad.
"I think it's only natural for me, having just taken over, not to want players to go out on loan immediately. I want to see what I've got and I want to work with the players to see what difference it might make to them.
"But I'm also looking at going out to see the players we already have on loan - like Nyron Nosworthy at Watford for example.
"I want to be up to date on everything and I think it's very important that we have our loan players watched and have full and clear reports on them.
"In an ideal world you want to assess everyone but you can't do everything immediately and we have to accept that we're in a run of games in a short space of time that demand our full attention.
"One advantage perhaps though of those six or seven games right now is having to utilise everyone to get through them and in doing that, you'll get to look at a lot of the players."

Man Management Bill. Aimed to put a rocket up the squad me thinks. Play on the mind sort of angle. Has worked quite well at times for some of the staff I've had.

It makes sense to me that the new manager of any club gets to know every squad player. He can then assess which players have a future at the club and which don't. There have been cases in the past when a player has looked ordinary under one manager but when a new one comes in the same player has improved beyond recognition. Now I'm not saying guys like Ringo and Nos would be like that but you never know......

I think O'Neill's just being thorough. He's new to the club and wants to take a look at what we have available. Good for him.

I've taken the kids prawn fishing. If you've got a few hours to kill & you’re not hungry give it a whirl.
Bit of a tip: Go straight to the restaurant if they have one!

Ps: By taking a dip never never just know what you might find

Ha! how long have you been out in 'Godzone', Kiwi? I think you'll find the two most common forms of wildlife in British waters today are faeces and Durex! Tip - don't eat the Durex. <laugh>

The bikes are usually gathered into the Bigg Market these days, and are frequently re-cycled (or so I understand, of course). Don't know too much about dykes mate.

I think they are playing Doncaster, so perhaps he is using Nos as a smokescreen while he watches Billy Sharpe
