Looks like we will be returning Jay Simpson to you next week, as although he chipped in with a few goals and set a few up early into his loan he soon contributed nothing and off late has not made the team at all.
Do you reckon you will be able to offload him to someone else in the next transfer window?

Actually,i think we might use him. Barmby has brought a new attacking style to the fore, and it might just suit Homer.

Millwall have just signed Harry Kane, the forward we were after a while back, so Simmo will definitely be back.

Am I right in thinking Simpson can play on the wing as well as as a striker? If Simpson plays how he was around this time last year I imagine a front three of Fryatt, Stewart and Simpson could be pretty tasty.

Id be suprised if he didn't leave during this window, maybe the likes of Huddlesfield or Charlton may scratch some money up for him.

But on the otherhand I agree with others, he could well fit in to this attacking mentality Barmby has installed. However, if we read into what HDM have published today about Billy Sharp then we can say goodbye to Simpson.

My thoughts on the January window haven't changed at all, despite all the rumours. It is more important imo, that we
keep the players we already have, than the ones we sign. We need a back up striker, not a first choice one.
Jay fits that bill perfectly,as he offers something different.

He's worth another chance imo and with NP no longer here Barmby may get the best out of him. Remember how well he linked up with Cameron Stewart when they both played together last season?

I think Simpson is worth another chance, but we definitely need a new first choice striker if we want to get any higher than we are now. We've lost games we've totally dominated because we have no one we can rely on to finish a chance. I'm not convinced Simpson is totally consistent in front of goal either but I would have him back as another option.

We'll try and use him as part exchange for someone else, if that doesn't work he'll be used in the matchday squad so that we have a striker on the bench.
