We,Bristol City fans,will be at Southampton tomorrow night and give a hostile reception to Nicky Maynard and watching his replacements,that surely means booing and insulting our own,which he still is. This is being reported as a headline article by a Southampton newspaper 24 hours before a crunch game. I have never heard Bristol City fans boo their own at an away game before for such reasons as printed,indeed they even go as far to say that Jon Stead and Bret Pitman could start the game instead of Nicky Maynard. Why are they so privileged and indeed where do they get all of this inside information so well before the rest of us. I do not think many Saints fans believe what they read in the Echo anymore. The paper had a falling out with our chairman who promptly banned them from the ground, so all these theories and rumours and tall tales have been created.
If you read 99% of the comments after a "daily echo" article , it is saints fans mocking the paper . The echo often gets things wrong and as mentioned by oddriveroakwizards due to a fall out they have no direct link with Southampton FC and so always have to scrap around for a story . However I may be wrong but I was under the impression that Maynard was booed at Coventry ? either way it is a desperate attempt for a story and neither Southampton FC or the fans will really care if he is booed or cheered ....
