I know a few Grimsby fans and they have been raving about Townsend I know its only the confrence but he s making a name for himself. Ive never seen him play Hes playing fullback for Grimsby
Now confirmed on the Grimsby OWS... http://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10417~2559562,00.html He tweeted it earlier. I've seen him a few times for the reserves, he looks like a decent left back, in some games he's looked exceptional, in others he's made the odd ricket(no pun intended), though he's still only 18, so he's plenty of time to work on his decision making and getting first team football will be great for him.
From reading a couple of articles and match reports he seems to be doing very well at Grimsby. Let's hope he could possibly be a home-grown replacement for Andy Dawson.
I still think Dudgeon is going to be a quality player. I thought he was playing really well before he was dropped. In fact I'd like to see him back this weekend; if we have to have McShane on one side, we don't want Dawson on the other. You have to like the guy but he seems a bit of a weak link nowadays.
I have and will say it a number of times about Dawson he is going to give away a penalty, he constantly pulls players in the box grabbing shirts as a way of getting players back you can't get away with it!
I completely agree, I like Dawson but I don't think Dudgeon should've been dropped for him. Dudgeon is a good player, he's decent in the tackle and going forward, is a hard worker and still has a little to learn in the positional sense but that'll come. Dawson on the other hand is experienced and well rounded, however his problem with pacey wingers is a big problem. Then again, Dawson has played very well for us since he came back from injury.
I went to watch him play against Port Vale, and he was a class above all there defenders. Was more of a wing back player, and got forward a lot.
Good for the lad. Getting first team football even in the cement league will do him good. Its a win win for all parties.
Shame about him staying there for the rest of the season. I was hoping that a League 2 club would take him at least. Oh well, I would love to see Sonny Bradley out on loan but it doesn't look like it will happen!
well i think that both Sonny Bradley and Liam Cooper are now being viewed as the cover for Hobbs and Chester,, especially if as most think that McShane will be going in Jan.
I thought that Turner was on our radar so that if/when McShane goes we have 3 great CBs that are interchangeable
Heard a rumour that Sheffield Wednesday want to take Conor Townsend on loan for the season and Steve Bruce wants to see him play regular football. The championship suits all parties for this season. Though when he may go is open to debate at present.
The conference league is just as good as the League 2 so I don't see where you are coming from there. Also, you are not keeping up, Bradley was given a free by City and is now at Portsmouth.
The comment was made in 2011, hence he was still with us. Confusing i know! i spent 5 minutes trying to figure it out untill i finally saw the dates.
