What would happen if Mr Barmby were to revert back to his previous role. Who would we get as a manager? Would transfer targets be relucant to sign for us if they were unsure what Nick planned to do?
Like everyone else, we'd look down the list of unemployed or soon to be unemployed managers. Ian Dowie, Phil Brown, Nigel Pearson...
Papa and Adam probably know 100% whether Barmby will take the managers job on a long term basis. We just need Barmby to announce whether he is the next manager to take us into the PL (in the next few seasons). As far a plan B - don't forget Mr Wigley is now at the club and has managerial experience.
NB would probably have finished playing at the end of the season anyway. Also, he wouldn't turn down the job anyway.
Would seem WJ is out of it. http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-F...ec/sir-alex-pleased-warren-joyce-stayed.aspx?
I am sure NB will take the job, he I think is playing this in a clever way, he wants first to see if he would enjoy the role, and how the fans would react to him, which I think this has already been proved in a positive way. He wants to negotiate the best deal for him and his family, and finally he wants to make sure the Allam's are behind him, and will support is ambitions.
Absolutely spot on! NB is no fool. He will wait and see how much support (cash and holding on to our prize assets) the Allams give him in January. I think he may even wait until the end of the season before deciding on taking the job on a permy basis.
dont see the problem myself. Plan A is working very well so far. Dont think a plan b will be required.
