What do you guys think of getting Raheem Sterling on loan till the end of the season? He’s very young but adds something and will always be a treat with his pace and skills.

It is possible that our wage structure has improved with several of our team getting new deals.

Sharp's value seems to be £3m, and so does Maynard's. Sharp for me please.

I was disappointed with the Palace players on show. Clyne the odd glimpse but did not look anything special. Scannell was hopeless and Zaha had good skill and pace but seemed to lack any positional sense and didn't track back.

Anyone know if Jamie Ward of Derby is available?

Jerome seems realistic, I don't know if he got any chances in the europa league but he is unlikely to get premier league football

    Hi guys

I have seen on a number of rumour sites that we are interested in these 2 players while offloading Puncheon and Forte (Blackpool and Walsall respectively)

IMO these would be 2 brilliant signings, whilst offloading 2 players that don't have a future with us.

    Thoughts?

Good to move Punch & Forte on as we do not want anyone hanging about who can't add any value to the squad
Lewis & Butterfield would be great but really need more strikers and another wide man

Shouldn't always think that money talks. If he wants to stay close to family ( as I think is the case) then Leicester is quite a good option for him. Not all players think of glory (Le God) preferring to stay closer to home.

I would also not be surprised to see him go to Leicester instead of Fulham!!!

If that's the case then respect to the man rather than accuse him of money grabbing. they're not all money grabbing ******s.

Now if that Defoe came here we may as well change his name to Puncheon!!! Great player, not a great personality. I could see the negatives outweighing the positive here the way Adkins has the squad in a state of togetherness.

Someone above said Sharp turned us down because he wanted too much money? I was under the impression it was because he didn't want to move South and it was one of the others (Rodriguez?) that was this scenario of wanting to be top earner?

Do you really mean 'improve' or 'increase'? Are we actually improving the wage structure by raising it? And if (for arguments sake) so if it is 200k a week is that 'vastly improving' our wage structure?

just a spare of the moment thought ! ....Many people are writing that they feel both "Jos" and "Fonte" would benefit from a rest due the the hectic schedule that saints have had . I agree with this but due to the incident involving Seabourne and the lack of competitive experience of Martin ,this isnt realistically a sensible option ! ..I have only just thought of it and havnt put a huge amount of research in but what are peoples views on enquiring about "andrew Davies" currently at Stoke but out of favour , he has been sent out on loan after loan of late and has just (as of a few days ago) returned back to Stoke from a loan spell at Bradford City ....I have not been following his form , but I personally think he was mostly outstanding when previously at Saints and could possibly provide good cover and who know maybe even competition for places on a short term basis .....Im sure that Stoke would consider a short term loan deal too .....Views ??? Or am I living in the past and we could and should be attracting better ? im aware that with our league position , ambition for the future and financial backing we should be able to attract better , however im not thinking of buying but someone who could come in for say 1-3 months on loan and spice up our CB rankings and potentially enable one of our solid back two to have a brief breather ......

We're not gonna do an Arsene Wenger, asking for older players back in our times of "trouble" <laugh>

By all accounts Andrew Davies is a shadow of the player we once had, hence why he's been going all the way down to L2 for his football. I'm sure he picked up a serious injury after leaving us, and has never really recovered.

you say about the lack of competitive experience for martin, but its the same with every player when they start - he is going have to be blooded in somewhere along the lines

Think Sharpey will be a fantastic addition to side, I hope we pull out the stops to get him! Would also get Jukey as well, bottom line is we need to get promoted!

I agree saints fan4life but I personally dont think that a highly competitive Championship atmosphere would be advised for his learning curve . Saints have got of to a very good start and putting the pressure on Martin to step up with so little experience and so much responsibilty I feel would not be good for neither player or club . Bart is an excellent goalkeeper and we saw what the pressure of having to step up and peform did to him ! I feel that Martin will be a very good player but he needs to gain match experience by maybe going out on loan ? he needs to be full of confidence and maybe a run of high intensity championship games would be a step too soon ?

Just my view , but I havnt got the lottery numbers right yet so hey I dont know everything :)

Having looked into it that does seem to be the case , he also seems to be familiar to seeing the red card !! I stand down ...he can stay at Stoke .

Guys Martin is a regular on the bench, I promise you he would not disgrace himeself if he was called on, in an emergency. Yes he is wet behind the ears hence why he is on the bench. He is a player for the future trust me.

Still need a fourth choice, with Seaborne out for sooooo long and Jaidi basically finished. I wouldn't be tempted to buy one in jan tho, I'd wait until the summer.
