New Year's eve used to be massive, planning weeks in advance for the big party, who to invite, what food to put on, do we have enough drink for everyone, what music to play, what to wear. New Years day would be over to my parents for lunch then the inlaws for tea then home to collapse, a good time wa had by all. Do I miss those times, well I do miss the energy I had, the excitement, laughter and fun. Going back even further to my teenage years I would spend the night going from house to house in the village, always a warm welcome and free drink. Now New Years Eve is the evening before I get to hang my new Sunderland Callandar and go to watch my team play. Thankfully it falls on a Saturday with a full days premeier programme so I have an escape from the never ending compilation of the best of shows and the last day of that chaps funeral in North Korea, it will still be going on wont it? TV is so good these days that we have had re runs of The Two Ronnies and Morcombe and Wise to show us what it used to be like. The only good thing worth watching was the doccumentry of my holiday on the Algarve with that strange tiltle of one foot in the grave, never understood that. Anyway, Happy New Year everyone....
Happy new year Syd..... Won't be on here for a while after tomorrow...so i'll take this opportunity to wish you all the best lads....
Off to see the missus and little'un... New years eve party at a resturant on the banks of the Mekong river..Back oround the 4th..
It is a tradition which I do my best to carry on. I remember some wonderful parties when I was a kid, with my late father playing the mouth organ and friends and family taking their turn to do their party pieces... I will have lots of friends and family round for our party, with singing, dancing and games on the menu aswell as plenty of food and drink, and my kids certainly look forward to this event.
Hmmm never had that. Although it could be nice to take the dog out for a quiet walk if the weather's nice , eh?
