Like I said, the fat lady ain't even warmed up yet. Spurs have had more false dawns than the midnight sun. You lot have got a long way to go before you can start giving the big 'un - we'll see who's comments come back to bite them on the bum ...
Well, to be fair, we haven't really said anything that cannot be corroborated by our superb performances. Our side is superbly balanced, and we have played open and attacking football at the very highest level. Modric and Bale have been exciting, VDV has been deadly, Parker has added real spine, our CBs and Friedel have all been solid, and Adebayor has reminded Defoe that being a striker is all about scoring goals. the result is that, at the half-way stage, we are 4 points clear in 3rd spot with a home game in-hand. Let me tell you straight, I'd rather be where we are now than where we traditionally are, at this stage of a season
RBDB! Welcome man. What took you so long to escape from the toddler's squabbling site? I remember you from the old 606.
Yeah, we always crumble under pressure, don't we? please log in to view this image 100% record in cup finals against Chelsea.
I have to say, that personally, I fail to see the attraction of other teams boards. I may have the very occasional look, just to see what's being said (especially about us) However, in the main, I don't give a toss about any other team but Spurs. If they come on to our board and engage in reasonable debate - fine, I'm happy to debate any reasonable argument. If they are obvious WUM's then I'm equally happy to send them packing with a ripe comment or two.
I post on other clubs' boards quite regularly. Some are more welcoming than others, but most are pretty reasonable, if you approach them in the right manner.
Please return to the present, Davidako. I know that the past is nice and comforting for you and all, but it's not healthy to think that you're actually in Life on Mars.
"We're not even half way through the season - the fat lady hasn't even begun to warm up yet." Actually, in just over 48 hrs, the fat lady will be singing the first significant stat of the season. And just as with your deluded tribe on my normal home, I will be back to ensure you hear the song ...
"Welcome man. What took you so long to escape from the toddler's squabbling site?" That is home for me. The RDBD passes here periodically (usually looking for any info on the OS/NDP saga) . Good to see the Goon arrogance/delusion is independent of Internet forum.
Also we should enjoy the last 8 games of the season as they are all very winnable.I haven't looked at other teams run-ins,but ours is as good as it gets in the EPL:
We shall indeed. And you make sure you enjoy the next 3 and a half weeks without your only decent striker. And the 3 and a half weeks after that. After 7 weeks of watching Andy Carroll trying to play football, we'll talk. Do keep in touch...
You're right Pat, I'd never noticed that! Easily our most favourable run-in in recent memory. IMO the make-or-break month for us will be February/March: Liverpool Away Newcastle Home Le Scum Away Man Utd Home Everton Away Hardest run of fixtures all season.
"Here's a quote you might be able to use in the future: Spurs should enjoy the next 3 and a half weeks because the end of January will be when they start a 2 month period of bottling it that will put them out of the CL places." In 19 PL seasons, the number of times that the team starting the new year in 3rd, has finished the season outside the top four = ... 2. Lemma stats/facts : a) Tis 3 times more likely that the constituent top 4 will now remain unchanged all season, than the team currently in 3rd finishing the season 5th or lower. b) Of the aforementioned two occasions, the points gap between 3rd and 5th has been 3 pts, with at least one of the teams behind 3rd having a game in hand. c) But in 2012, the points gap is 5 pts, and the team in 3rd has a game in hand. LAL !!! :-D
