The same same stuff was all said about us after the wolves game. It annoys me how every bad result (and i believe we were unlucky yesterday) is a sign about how we will inevitibly fail if we dont spend x million immediately. The next game we beat man city, cheif of the big spenders. I will say now what i said then. we will be fine.

I can pretty much guarantee that we will lose on Sunday. it is an inevitable follow on from our defeat yesterday. If we lose on Sunday, we won't win the league. In what circumstances do I believe we will lose on Sunday? The same as yesterday. In yet another performance where we fail to string 2 passes together away from home as our midfield watches on.

Well then we will be even worse next year then. That will honestly be a isgrace if that happens.

What happens if you win the league next year, will it still be a disgrace? You seem to want to spend money for the sake of it.

That's cos they paid £24 million worth of the debt off:

If the cash is there but SAF doesn't want to spend it, there's no point just sitting on it when it can be used to reduce the interest bill.

Personally, I'd like us to sign one top class midfielder to play alongside Anderson next season, with Cleverly and / or Pogba getting promoted to the first team and one or two of Fletcher, Carrick and Gibson leaving. I'd also quite like to see another winder come in, but with Nani, Valencia, Park and Giggs they would also have to be top class in order to get it and make a difference. I don't want us to buy workmanlike squad players like Parker, who won't improve us and will only get worse over time under the pressure of playing at the top...

I hear what you are saying and on another thread made reference to Parker (possibly why you are saying this). I am not advocating signing Parker this summer but would have not minded him at OT in Jan just for the title run in. He has performed far better this season than Carrick, Fletcher, Gibson and in my opinion Anderson.

With regards to the long term future our midfield desperately needs a creative CM this summer and another LW to again add creativity and goals. By selling Gibson and say Carrick, together with Cleverly, Pogba and another 1 or 2 young players getting some chances to perform, I do believe the Utd midfield would be dramatically improved.

Yes but there's no guarantee he, or any other players like him, would maintain their form under the greater weight of expectation at Utd. For me the main thing is not to confuse form with talent and quality. We made that mistake before with players like Kleberson and Djemba Djemba. We need a creative CM, but we need to make sure they are a top class player who can raise the team and also fit into our system, otherwise they may just end up playing on a similar level to Fletcher and Carrick.

Utd were sharp 1 st half...chelsea were hungrier 2nd half... the peno was unfortunate but a given nevertheless, luiz should have walked but these things happen..

In regards to Lpool ... our defence may be weakend but listen is west ham can contain their attack and still bang 3 in then there really shouldnt be a problem.
as they say anyway attck is the best form of deffense.... rooney actually looking quite sharp again (altho his temper is back, needs that slapped out of him) and with hernandez's pace and finishing ability we shud be grand!" feel sorry for berby tho , best season for us and still left on the bench.. dont no what to make of that.

Our midfield is dire every1 no's but this talk that theres no money in the summer... sure fargie said the other day that they weer so close to signing a big name in jan but contract wasnt agreed but still remains a target for summer... also I cant imagine Rooney afetr (all the shinanigans over xmas) would sign another contract within the guarentee that signings were going to be made... again i cant see evra doing the same.

Players like Brown and O'Shea always seem to raise their game against us so i'm not going to be over confidant about facing you lot without Vidic and Rio.

m8 I no they signed new deals, exactly my point, they wouldnt have signed new deals unless they were guaranteed that the club were going to make new signings and share a vision of moving forward!

    accepted lol

just hope these anticipated signings meet the fans expectations.... personally I feel that charlie adams is a bargin at 10mil and he's already established himself a premier quality, great at set pieces, corners n penalties. and his passing range is 2nd to none... wouldnt take him more than a few games to settle in... he would get a 1 year crash course apprenticeship under scholes (if and when he signs 1 yr extension) and still fairly young so at least get 5yr good yrs out of him. Cleverly will be another great squad member to have back, he's definatley matured on his load.... still think we wuld be short in midfield...1 world class and another young prodigy would see us thru the next few seasons!
