Jose Mourinho has said that in a couple of years time he'd like to come back to England to manage.

Obviously Man Utd have to be the obvious team of choice for him but aside from them, is there anyone else he could manage other then us?

Man City are set to make Mancini the highest paid manager in the premier league, Chelsea are looking to make AVB a long term solution while Arsenal & Spurs do not offer the financial muscle Mourinho prefers.

Kenny Dalglish also only has a 3 year contract, can you see FSG extending it or do you think they will execute their original plan of bringing in a young manager?

I would honestly rather have Roy Hodgson back and that's the truth, I don't care how many trophies Jose win's he is a toe rag that play's awful football and if you look at it, he has had hundred's of million's to spend to try and get near Barca and Real Madrid are still getting ripped a new arsehole by Barca in their own ground so he can't be that good of a manager if he has a blank cheque book to buy whoever he want's and still only have the Spanish version of the Carling cup to show for it.

Not for us. He wants success for himself. Not the team. When he won the treble with inter all eyes were on him, not the team. I'd hate to have a manager like that

Mourinho would be terrible. Yes he brings immediate success and wins trophies is a short space of time, but after he has won all he can he moves on leaving the team in a state. He leaves a team that can only play one way, his way, and is often aged and needs major reinvestment. Look at how much money is now needed rejuvinate Chelsea and the mess Inter found themselves in last season

Chelsea's plight is nothing to do with Mourinho. It's Romans fault for sacking managers before they can make the team theirs. How long has he been gone? That would be like blaming Liverpools lack of goals on morientes leaving the club

Agree in a sense Bozz but if you look at his signings:

    2007

    Aug Juliano Belletti Barcelona £3.7m
    July Florent Malouda Lyon £13.5m
June Tal Ben Haim Bolton Free
June Claudio Pizarro Bayern Munich Free
    June Steve Sidwell Reading Free

    2006

    Aug Ashley Cole Arsenal £5m
    Aug Khalid Boulahrouz Hamburg £7m
June John Mikel Obi Lyn £16m
May Ben Sahar Hapoel Tev Aviv £320,000
May Andrei Shevchenko AC Milan £30.8m
    May Salomon Kalou Feyenoord £8m
May Michael Ballack Bayern Munich Free

    2005

    Aug Michael Essien Lyon £24.4m
July Shaun Wright-Phillips Manchester City £21m
July Lassana Diarra Le Havre £1m
July Scott Sinclair Bristol Rovers £160,000
June Asier Del Horno Athletic Bilbao £8m
Jan Jiri Jarosik CSKA Moscow £4.83m
    July Ricardo Carvalho Porto £19.85m
    July Didier Drogba Marseille £24m
    July Tiago Benfica £8m
July Mateja Kezman PSV Eindhoven £5m
    July Paulo Ferreira Porto £13.2m
July Arjen Robben PSV Eindhoven £12m

    Total £225.76m

How many of these had the majority of their careers ahead of them? You'd probably only say Lassana Diarra, Scott Sinclair, Ben Sahar, Jon Obi Mikel and Soloman Kalou. The 2 that are still at the club cost a combined £24mil and neither would make a typical Chelsea fan's starting 11, and the other 3 moved on with barely a sniff of the first team. Combine that with a complete lack of any kind of youth products being blooded into the team during his reign, and he's very much a parisitic style of manager. He eats up all the attention, funds and success and then moves on leaving nothing behind him.

I'm not denying he's good at what he does, but Mourinho went straight from being Assistant Manager to managing Benfica. He then got sacked for issuing the chairman an ultimatum. He then did will to get a team up to 5th place, after which time he took over a Porto side that already had the likes of Deco and Carvalho- hardly the toughest job. The CL win with Porto was great but since then he has managed Chelsea (unlimited funds), Inter (miles better than any team in Italy) and Real Madrid (unlimited funds). So that's 7 goes with some of the biggest teams in Europe to win 1 Champions League. Winning the CL is always impressive, but i daresay there's a few managers that could do the same under those circumstances.

Way, way too big an ego. Jose only uses his clubs to enhance his own reputation. LFC is all about the club- not one man.

He may well not be able to resist the United job but my ill-informed opinion is that it would turn out to be a nightmare for both him and United - bring it on!!!

Whoever follows Fergus is walking into a **** storm. Mourinho to Utd, one massive ego, controlling the biggest PR machine in football..perfect.

What Mourinho will be aware of is Utd's massive debt, and repayment structure which kicks in sooner rather than later. He likes to spend, and Utd's squad will need overhauling..Will the monies be there?

will it need overhauling in 3 years?? Fergie seems to be doing a lot of the ground work now with players like Jones, De Gea, Wellbeck & Evans

Bozz...Evra,Vidic,Ferdinand to name 3..Don't rate Evans,Wellbeck is also overated and have doubts about De Gea, the twins are a liabilty, and the midfield is weak without Giggs and Carrick.
