Many people remember when James Beattie fell down his stairs and broke his ribs and some will remember when Mark Fish fell through a glass table and broke his hand/wrist, but the news today that Chris Whelpdale had his scrotum split open in a challenge against Crawley is a new one to me (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16338426.stm). So what I want to know is, what is the strangest or most painful footballing injury that you can remember? I think poor Mr Whelpdale's will take some beating.
My mate once dislocated his finger whilst pumping up a football. Dunno how he did it but at first it was ****ing hilarious and then we saw his finger and drove him to A n E. Lol
I'm not sure if it actually was a serious injury in the end but Phil Babb sliding into the goal post looked pretty nasty.
Leroy Lita stretched in bed when he woke up and managed to injure himself - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/reading/6935892.stm
Not football, but this has to be the worst sporting injury that I've seen. He was left paralyzed from the neck down. Don't watch if you don't like blood.
Not football again, but baseball player Glenallen Hill missed a couple weeks with a bunch of lacerations and bruises after fell down a staircase. While asleep. Because he was having a nightmare about spiders.
