When was the last Time

We scored directly from a corner kick,am I right in thinking it was Hernandez from Rooneys corner against West Brom,and please dont say the W brown own goal

we signed young partly as a dead ball specialist, and now he doesn't even play! And one of our best headers of a ball is rooney... who takes the corners

 

Strange is usually Nani or Giggs that takes the corners

 

I said this on a Jonny Evans thread that he was the first person in a long time that really attacked corners (the QPR game) and it's a really odd thing to say considering we have probably the best header in the league (maybe even the world) in Vidic. I remember Smalling really attacking corners when he first came to United and Rio has scored a few goals direct from corners and free kicks .

The problem is that noone sticks in good crosses consistantly and noone really attacks them with any purpose. All of our strikers do score headers but the thing is, they aren't the type to attack the ball, they're more of the movement/idiots in opposition defence type. Compare that to the Norwich strikers in Holt and Morrison who are the type to be physical and attack the ball.

I think the last person who really attacked the ball was Cristiano. Just found this video, it's pretty perfect to illustrate my point, some of these goals are just brilliant. And to highlight just how brilliant a header he was, one of his best attributes. (I beg you though, don't let this end up in a Messi vs Ronaldo debate)

on another point was at Old Trafford and the wigan fans were chanting all game to be fair to them,then there was a massive cheer when Alan Keegan announced at FT that Chelsea,Liverpool and City all failed to win

 

i was just going on last week from what i can remember. Then again, nani didn't play and giggs was taken off when rooney came on so... swings and roundabouts. Still doesn't take away from the fact that our set pieces are ****e

 

i think that Giggs and Nani will be the best choices int the team now , do you think any other will do better , Rooney or Hernandez?
maybe a new midfield star player should come !

Valencia and Anderson take the best corners in our squad IMO. 90% of the corners Nani and Giggs take don't make it pass the first defender. Young hasn't been playing much so I can't really comment on his corner delivery.

 

Oh and wasn't Chicharitos goal against Liverpool direct from a corner?
