Haha, that just reminded me of Joe Dirt, pretty funny movie, bit cheesy but good nonetheless.

Thats a pity, he has not been scoring many goals, so another player will take his place and probably score a shed load (excluding Mandy)

I agree you can't do it all the time, but I think you can do it to a greater extent. Players like Downing, Adam and even Suarez at the moment seem to get the ball and immediately get their head down and go for the goal when other players are in better positions. I think there's always the temptation to just go for goal all the time when the team isn't scoring many, when in actual fact you need to do the opposite, and work the ball into a better position cos the half chances are always the ones you miss when goals aren't coming.

I also vividly remember the one against Sunderland (I think) earlier in the season when Adam and Henderson had something like five shots in a row from the edge of the box, each of which was either saved or blocked. Come the end of the move Suarez was screaming in fury cos he was standing about eight yards to the left with an open goal but neither of them even looked at him. The net result was five "chances" but no goal, when all it needed was for someone to get their head up and it would have been one chance, one goal, three points.

Crosses into the box are an obvious exception to this, but even then it's sometimes worth looking up and seeing that the strikers aren't in the right position, and so having another go at the fullback to give them a bit more time to make space or get set for the cross. Downing in particular is bad for this - he's tried the most crosses of any player this season, but not one of them has resulted in a goal cos he seems to either cross first time or try and run into the box and shoot. He never seems to get the ball, get his head up, and cross at the best possible time. Valencia has been quite bad for that this season too - in 09/10 he was almost perfect at deciding when to cross first time and when to delay a bit and take the full back on, but since his injury he seems to be too willing to cross as soon as he gets the chance, and hence is producing less for us cos players aren't always in position.

Kuyt hasn't scored for ages, replacing Suarez is going to be difficult. I'd start with Bellamy and Carroll.

Bellamy will be a danger, i'd start him on his own. Carroll should be nowhere near the spherical object he seems to have a phobia of

Maybe follow Wenger's lead and bring back Robbie Fowler on loan?
