I wasn't surprised we didn't top the performance league for any month because otherwise Adkins would have won manager of the month (as someone else said). We have been consistent until recently and another win on Friday will put that right. Adkins for manager of the season!
Basically if we don't lose at West Ham, Middlesbrough or Hull I don't care if Nigel only wins Manager of the Year.
The manager of the month curse is a myth. It usually occurs when a team overperforms from standard expectations. The manager of the team in question wins the MotM award, the next month the team is back to its expected form and the "curse" strikes. It's deviation from a mean, nothing more. The league table is a fairer reflection of a manager's capabilities as the size of the sample data is greater.
