"I'm not thinking of leaving in January"

Still can't help but think he'll leave in the summer though <wah>

Good to hear, but how many times have we heard this? At least he's come out and said it though.

Wouldn't it be great if these people could stop pissing all over fans with verbal technicalities? "I'm not thinking of leaving in January" doesn't mean ****. I'm not thinking of eating potato and leek soup tomorrow but that doesn't mean I'm ruling it out.

Wouldn't it be nice if just for once, one of these assholes were to say: "I'm not going to leave, I don't want to and therefore won't." or "I love playing here but I'm keeping open my options to further my career if a big offer comes along."

Honesty and frankness goes a long way in my book. Far better than pointless statements that can be easily twisted to show you never actually meant anything by them if **** hits the fan (pun massively intended).

If anything, I'd rather he didn't say anything! Along with what he said last time, "there's nothing official", and the "i'm not thinking of leaving in January", I'm now thinking "well it's not official, and he's not thinking about it, but he's not ruled it out and even then he'll probably leave in the summer <wah>"

    Verbal technicalities, as you say!

FFS he will be sold whether he like it or not man. Then a statement will be released saying Tiote forced the move and the same morons that bought the Carroll wanted to go to Liverpool will start booing him.

I take it all with a pinch of salt. Jose and Amy both said similar in the past.

I think it's different to the Jose saga. Jose just wasn't happy, and we all knew it, it's not as if he ever came out and pretended to be happy.

Means nothing at the minute, but I do believe he's happy here, I don't think he'd lie about it. It's whether or not Ashley would accept a big bid for him, and only time will tell!

Yeah. We all know that when the big offer comes in; Ashley will pull out his shotgun and hold it to Tiote's temple while swigging insanely from a large bottle of single malt. Tiote will have been cluelessly wandering around town at the time before arriving by chance at Ashley's office on transfer deadline day. Unaware of what is going on, he will begin to cry helplessly as he signs papers that rob him of all he holds dear before being bundled into a helicopter and instructed on what to do next.

“If I have to continue here [at Newcastle], I’m happy. If I have to go to another club, I’m happy in England. If I have to go to another league, I’m happy. I just want to play football – it’s my life and it’s best for me.” It was that which really swung it for me. Sounds almost reluctant - "If I have to continue here"

Just a shame you can never really trust the player! Heard it too many times.

He's foreign and hasn't been in this country or speaking this language for very long at all... don't read too much into the finer details of what he says (i.e. the use of the word "have")

Tiote does seem happy here and I don't think he'll ask for a move but if MA accepts an offer he'll go.

He's doing a job he enjoys so would be happy where he is. Most people on here, if content in a job which pays well, wouldn't be actively looking for a move elsewhere. Sadly all it takes is an agent to put his arm round him and whisper numbers in his ear. The tales of poor boy from a poor country. Short career. Looking after the family etc are what will swing it. The same no doubt with Colo. He has 5 years left then what does he do? 40k a week here or 80k a week elsewhere? Then back to Argentina with a lot of money in the bank or A LOT of money in the bank?
