Gotta be honest, I haven't seen enough of you to know what extent the GK's have played a role. But based on the Wigan and Blackburn games you are making them look much better than they are.

On the one hand, you are hitting shots that they have a chance of saving - the one Bunn saved from Carroll was a good chance, but Carroll completely shanked it. If he'd hit it sweetly the keeper would have had no chance - he could even have toe poked it like Berb did against Wigan. But he hit it into the ground so the keeper had a chance to see it and react.

On the other hand, you take so many shots that the keeper gets plenty of practice. Having been a keeper myself at uni, it's a heck of a lot easier to pull off a good performance when the first few shots you face are savable than if the first shot is an absolute belter in the bottom corner, or if you don't get a touch for half an hour. I wonder if you need to focus more on creating clear cut chances rather than creating so many half chances as you do at the moment? I also wonder if the fact you create so many chances also makes the strikers value them less - they know there's going to be another similar chance later so they don't really focus on taking individual chances.

That'll be pretty difficult to implement, wouldn't it?
If you, for example, cross a ball into the box, who's to say whether it ends up being a 'clear cut' chance or only a 'half' chance? If it looks like the striker will have to win an aerial duel to get to it, do you just not bother crossing? Do you wait until he's unmarked, even it it takes all game, before you play a ball to him?
I understand what you're saying, but I don't think it's entirely possible, simply because you can't control the opposition.
