It's very difficult for DG to score when he is the lone striker. The goal he scored today, with 3 players on his back was a great goal, speculative and with the hand ball, lets face it, lucky. The number of goals for, speak for themselves. Whenever else did we look dangerous in front of goal, we just didn't. One striker is easy to mark by 3/4 players and whilst out defense is admirable, we got caught out a bit today when the subs were made and gave away a stupid route one
goal. We have the wingers to get past players but it's no use if there is only one player in the box being marked out of the game
I'm all for keeping clean sheets and Vorm is the find of the Century, of that there is no doubt but we have to start scoring some goals and DG needs some help up front one way or another and that's it.

Well if Rodgers is one thing it's predictable (well there are a few other things, but my therapist has me moved on these days). He fell into that short passing sideways and backwards in midfield style of football at Watford and Reading. His answer at Reading was to but Jobi Notgoodenough - therefore my prediction for Swansea is that he will try to tap up Jobi and bring him down the M4..along with a few other of his old cohorts. If he has gone completely bonkers that might include Priskin!

Sorry NNW - slightly off thread

trouble is, Priskin only ever played well for him...if he takes him to Wales, that might make sense...(and we could all have a bit of a laugh ;) )

As per usual 'Superswan99' is talking out of his ass. Graham along with Agustien were the only two players who put a real shift in for us yesterday against an ordinary QPR. The Prem is a massive step up and he along with us is still learning. If you want a striker who scores bags of goals at this level you have to be prepared to pay out more than 3.5M.

He has scored 6 despite being in a team whose ethos is not to concede and only creates one or two chances per game.

Graham has the makings of being a top player. Good article. <applause>

DG works his socks off every game, although the way we are playing recently he spends more time in defending than attacking. He needs much more support in the final third from our (lacking) midfield.
Others on here have said the same, get the midfield moving forward, not, as happens so often, playing back towards our own goal. To coin a phrase, we need to stop pissing at the same bit of wall & try another different wall to piss against.
I heard Brendan on the radio this morning, and he said something like, and I paraphrase a bit, "when we scored, we tried to close the game out". By that, I assume he meant hang onto the 1-0 lead. This after about 20 minutes, with 70 or so minutes left. If that`s true, that`s a disaster waiting to happen, and it did.

    Good thread by the way.

    Is 'Dai' Welsh for 'Garry'?

From his spoutings, he seems to be as knowledgeable as our very own twat of that name.

Swainseye- Completely agree with your comments. It was quite alarming that we seemed to drop off when we scored our lucky goal, 1-0 after 20 minutes is not the time to try and close it out and it cost us as a result . Brenden is running out of ideas IMO and unless he can sign the right players in January we will struggle for the rest of the season, problem is that we will struggle to sign the right players because we cant afford them !! over to you Brenden !! <ok>

If you need a creative mid, you could do a lot worse than steal Don Cowie from Cardiff;)(that would also derail them a bit too)

Not sure about these days but Egypt use to be the easiest place in the world to get your license . Drive 8 feet forward & 8 feet backwards & it's yours , true story !

cracker as usual you are not listening and blinded by the goal that should never have stood. If danny is our best player then that says a lot.....our best player is not good enough so what does that make the rest with the exception of vorm...god i love that vorm but even he wont be good enough on his own to keep us up.......punching above our weight will not save us in the second half of the season. the amount of chances we had in the first half qpr should have been dead and buried and danny and the rest just were not good or capable enough to put any thing away. and he was our best player after vorm who saved us yet again, In the second half one of the poorest sides in the premiership took us apart and they were the away side....that speaks volumes that even though danny was our best player he still was not good enough with the rest of the one game wonders to win their home games against the so called lesser teams......Open your eyes and not think because danny was our MOM that he and the rest are premiership standard as results at home and definately away tell you the truth that we are punching well above our weight and it is vorm that is keeping us out of the bottom 3 for the time being......men against boys in most cases,

A little easier than mine! I had to reverse park in front of the pub in a small country village in Oz, then take the police sergeant, who was conducting the test, into the pub and buy him a beer. Mind you, I had been driving around unlicensed for about two years - mainly old jeeps on bush roads where such things as licenses were of little importance.
