We are missing Vidic and Rio for that game and Evra is a doubt. Winning this game is going to be very hard. If we don't win this game it won't be the end of the world as I fully expect Arsenal to drop points. However, we need to bounce back and show out intent. We all know the midfield lacks creativity and I am tired of our fans always crying about it. If I had a penny for every time a Utd fan moaned about this I would be a rich billionaire and able to buy Utd. What we need is Valencia back and Park and Anderson. The midfield just needs to supply the wings and the strikers which drop deep. We need Anderson and Park and Valencia back if we want to win the league. Rooney who you know I do not like is gaining some decent goal scoring form. I am very interested to see our team bounces back after this defeat.
Fergie has said he wont, but you never know he might spring a suprise. Mind you it is rio though, with him I fear the worst with injuries nowadays.
Evra will be okay but not Rio. Ferguson would not risk Rio TEAM FOR POOL Oshea Smalling Brown Evra Nani....Carrick Scholes Giggs ..........Rooney Berbatov
Do us a favour...stuff the scousers and you'll be alright in my eyes! As much as i have to dislike Man U I hate Liverpool a lot lot lot more! Plus it'll help us in our quest for 6th hahaha
Liverpoo are garbage and we could put any of squad in and give them their third beasting off us this season. 3-0 to us on our way to number 19.
Our major issue for the Pool game is not defensive imo. It is the same issue we faced in the 2nd half tonight that worries me. That of a midfield that go missing when the going gets tough. They aren't good enough but that has been evident all season. If (and when) we fall short in all competitions come the end of the season, then the owners will be under serious pressure to release some funds on quality talent and this talk of "umpteen million in the bank" will be tested.
Merry you can't say we will fall short in all competitions. I know you have never backed us at all this season. And if I can remember back to September and said Chelsea would win it. This title race is not being fought by great teams. Arsenal who are our main rivals have RVP, FAB, WALCOTT all missing. That is a major problem for them and coupled with players short of confidence their defense and goal keeper as well as many crushed spirits and lack of leaders we have a very good chance. I am in no way saying we will win by being great but I feel we will win it by being the best of a average bunch.
We have a chance this season and we must back our players. Its going to be close and tough but we can win the league.
Re-read my post. What i said was that we WILL fall short in all competitions. Our midfield isn't good enough and isn't suddenly going to become so. It's unfortunate. I blame the owners. You don't. Fair enough but either way, that "huge money in the bank" hasn't been spent in important areas and now is the acid test. If (and when) we miss out in every competition this year, strengthening in the position (central midfield) that has cost us will be a necessity. Blaming Martin Atkinson or anyone else will not change that fact.
What i'm saying is that we will not win it or anything else. Harsh? Well, wait til you see our midfield (Fergie and Glazer's ultimate combination apparently) this weekend at Anfield. It will resemble a train wreck, as it did today.
Merry your talking rubbish and acting as if Arsenal are some special side without RVP. Who are there weapons upfront? Bentnar and Chamakh?
Not talking about Arsenal. i'm talking about our midfield and how they consistently get overrun. I'm talking about how Scholesy can still split a defence in an instant but doesn't have the legs anymore to keep going and his two central midfield partners just aren't getting the job done. I'm talking about how people say the Glazers aren't holding us back and yet, the midfield issue has existed for some time. I've been ranting about it for a year and a half. And they keep falling short. Does Fergie expect some sort of incredible and inexplicable resurgance or do you reckon that maybe, just maybe, this much vaunted money in the bank is destined to remain just that? Think about it and consider it.
If Ferguson is "hiding the truth" its time he has come clean. Saying he has the funds and is happy about the squad is a disgrace if he is not. Lieing to the fans about the future stability of the club is absurd and to me would make him lose a lot of respect if this is true. If he cared about the club he would support a movement to kick out the handicaps of the club which is the Glazers. I don't believe any of this as I know Ferguson would not do such a horrible thing and lie about our clubs future. Don't give me this ballshit about him keep his gob shot to please the fans and keep them appeased. Ferguson is as competitive as they come and is a winner and anything which disturbs his ideology would come in conflict with him.
Your statement is contradicting our manager. He knows that one day he has to retire as he is not super human. What do you expect him to come out and say when he retires "by the way fans I kept you quiet but the future of Utd is bleak"?
