Almost double the amount of attempts at goal and double the corners!! A really well deserved point for us!!
Let's be honest, here. We've just seen two teams that are not particularly good. Swans make pretty little patterns around the pitch and the Rs hit an hope (most of the time). Neither is going to set the world alight this season. We should both be happy with 16th and 17th place this time around.
Not a good advert for Premiership football, to much Christmas pudding for both teams me thinks, but I think both managers should be worried about that performance going into the second half of the season, Swansea desperately need a Borini frontman, not knocking Graham, but Moore? Time for Dobbie to be given a run of games, please Rodgers! Good banter from you QPR boys too, all the best for the rest of the season.................. please log in to view this image
Cheers DragonPhillJack, let's hope we are playing each other next season in the PL, though not at Christmas!...
Good point about Dobbie. I really rate him and was glad to see that Rodgers does not see the same as the rest of us. 1-1 a fair result me thinks, in the end both teams seemed more than happy with it as well. Ref had a stinker, very poor indeed. Good luck for the rest of the season, and here's to hoping all three promoted teams stay up!
Both teams' expectations are to great . I'm pretty happy with whats been accomplished so far with a skeleton crew of late . A lot of pluses for me today . Caulker is learning to move the ball up the middle more . Britton is a little man on a mission every game these days . Agustien was excellent as the game wore on . Graham continues to work hard at both ends of the pitch . Vorm continues to have a nose for a save . We need a couple of defenders in the window though , a high end CB that will have a bit of experience already when Caulker returns to the Spurs & a high end versatile defender that can play anywhere on the back line .
swans got what they deserved, they should have had the game dead and buried in the first half. yet again to many passes going backwards and in a lot of cases it was easier to go forward. danny had a good game in the first half and if im honest he had a bit of luck with his goal as the ball hit his arm, still it was a good finish. leon played a blinder today but was let down by his fellow midfielders who kept passing the ball backwards and it was only a matter of time where one back pass would go astray and it leads to a goal. 1-1 was not so much a fair result as much as we yet again threw the win away...spurs will murder us playing backwards for most of the game with the players they have got...
Fully deserved point for QPR. Double the corners and nearly double the attempts on goal! Only one team looked like winning it once it was 1-1!! URrrrsssss!!
For me, that game was like watching Wales vs England in the rugby. A complete contrast in playing styles. The Swans, and Wales, try and play attractively, but when you come up against a team that plays like QPR did today, or like England do in rugby, you can't play your normal game. How can you concentrate on taking a touch and playing a pass when you've got the threat of someone coming through the back of you every single time you get the ball to feet? I can't believe how direct QPR were, I expected them to knock it around a bit. I agree with the sentiments earlier on this page about how we're two teams who aren't very good and should be happy with 16th and 17th. Right now I'd bite your arm off for that! I am very disappointed with the referee though. Both teams had decisions go against them, but some of the decisions in the latter part of the first half were a joke.
Seldom have I read such dross!! 2nd half, we kept the ball better than you. We were the away team and had double the corners and many more attempts on goal. If it hadn't been for a brilliant save by Vorm from Taarabt we'd have taken all 3 points. Agree on the ref, who was simply clueless!!
Haha, I've just got in and it was the first time I've managed to get to see a game this season, so I'm aware my posts will be even more bias than usual, and it wasn't the most perfectly worded explanation I've ever given! I'm not saying QPR didn't deserve to take anything from the match, not at all, and 2nd half you did retain possession a lot better (saw Taarabt & Leon Britton both had 98% pass completion - epic) but the overriding ethos I saw from QPR today was HOOOOOF. Maybe my view was particularly naff, but the ball did seem to spend a lot of time in the air!
Got to agree with much of the above. Wasn't great viewing on sky, like watching the championship again, though - unlike last year - the psychology was defensive rather than positive (inevitable given our league positions I suppose). Was terrified Routledge was going to break his epic premiership duck out of spite for not getting a better offer from us last Summer. Looks like we were right to turn him down after all, though he put in a good cross for Graham's goal. Great to see Mackie on the scoresheet, what a shame he hardly got another pass all game - looked as if he was in the mood.
Mmm...I'll put all that down to disappointment at not winning mate. We played some good neat stuff!! You must have gone to the wrong game!
