We can go 6th on saturday!

Good time to play Everton with the injuries to Cahill and Fellaini, good chance of us getting the 3 points we need to take us to 39 points.

Bolton playing an in form Villa team, either a draw or a Villa win in that match would see Bolton stay on 37 or go to 38.

Sunderland playing Arsenal, if they lose or draw we would go above them also.

And Liverpool have a big test against Man Utd going into the game on the back of a dreadful 3-1 loss to West Ham!

This would put us level on points with the bin dippers but above them by goal difference into 6th place if Liverpool lose

If we were to do this do you think we have enough about us to stay there?

(I realise Ive stated the obvious a LOT there but I got excited)

A lot of "ifs" I agree but theres a good chance they could all happen, nothing out of the question, and I'd definitely back Arsenal to beat the mackems and Man Utd to beat Liverpool.

 

Everton just lost to Reading too. Hopefully that'll dip their morale a bit, but I may be clutching at straws. Wheres Orb of Genius when you need him?

But **** it, I only care about us now! The higher we finish the better!!

 

I would really love to go into 6th at the weekend but staying there will be very hard I think. We can beat Everton on Saturday although they lost tonight to Reading in the FA Cup so might be up for getting back on good terms with a draw/win away from home. We will see I guess, wait till the last 3-4 fixtures and if we are still in 6/7th then I think we have a good chance.

Good point mate. I've never known a season like this with only ten games to go where there's only 9 points seperating a European spot and the relegation zone.

It's a really exciting season I think and I'll wager a few quid that all three relegation spots and the final Europa League spot could get decided on the last day!

 

The fact we have two very winnable games after this one in Stoke and Wolves makes it all the more exciting aswell.

 

Followed by games at Stoke then at home to Wolves though, these are games we technically should win so we'll have good chances of sticking there for a couple of weeks....but judging by our season so far god knows what'll happen. Might as well predict us to get stuffed by Wolves then for Perch to score a hat trick against Man U (Odds on this anyone?)

 

There's plenty of time the The Arse to catch Manure. Hell we've got them to play soon. Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spuds have all failed to win at SJP

It definately looks like something that could happen. As has been mentioned, it is an odd season, where pretty much anything could happen. But on paper it looks like we *could* slide into that 6th spot. Keeping it it will be tough though. But i think it's easier to defend that position than to try and get to it.
