Can anyone tell me why have so many players doing hamstrings all at the same time?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its groin and hamstring most of the time, has been for a couple of seasons now, I've had this conversation previously...just get Dick van Horse Giblet to move to Tottenham.

Notso he fixed Rafa last time but Rafa has broken down again and I'm concerned that one day he will injure that muscle again and be out for a really long time.
For the conditioning staff, Harry ought to be very concerned that players that aren't even playing are getting these injuries- there goes the back up!

Yes it should have been, makes you wonder if he got the card on purpose.

We do seem to have alot of these types of injuries, could be the cold.Could also be the way we train who knows, just wish it would stop.

Looks like rafa is going to be ok for Norwich so that should help us out no end.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/16329505.stm

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has said Rafael van der Vaart has not suffered a hamstring tear as first feared.

The 28-year-old was substituted during Spurs' 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Thursday and Redknapp had feared he could be out until the new year.

But speaking to Sky Sports News, Redknapp said: "He looks okay.

"He looks like he could be fit [to face Norwich on 27 December]."

After the Dutch forward was substituted at half-time, Redknapp's initial diagnosis was that the 28-year-old faced a few weeks out.

However, Redknapp revealed that a later check had provided positive news.

"We thought he had a hamstring [tear]. He went for a scan and it didn't show a tear," he said.

"I think he probably had a bit of cramp in there where he's had a problem before, a bit of tightness he felt maybe might go, so he took the precaution of not playing on with it."

Good news.An Xmas pressy for Spurs.

SPURS TEAM NEWS:

Harry Redknapp says he's hopeful of Rafa van der Vaart featuring at Norwich tomorrow night (Tuesday, December 27).

The Dutch forward was forced off at half-time of Thursday's draw against Chelsea with a hamstring problem but has been back in training at Spurs Lodge.

Meanwhile, Harry reported that Ledley King came through the Chelsea match okay but he wouldn't have enough time to recover to feature at Carrow Road.

Harry also ruled Jermain Defoe out with his hamstring injury and that he'd 'wait and see' on Younes Kaboul's hamstring problem.

Speaking after training on Boxing Day, Harry said: "We're hoping Rafa will be fit and it looks like there's a chance he'll be okay.

"Jermain isn't fit though, Ledley was okay after the Chelsea game but this one has come around too quickly for him. He's not fit.

"We're not sure on Younes yet, we'll have to see how he is."

Michael Dawson is on the road to full recovery from his Achilles injury while Tom Huddlestone (ankle) remains sidelined.

Well if that is the case, there is a few gaps that need filling.
Looks like Pav will get another game, after the Chelsea game he doesn't deserve it.

So what lineup would you go with? I assume King needs a rest and I think Parker could do with one too but I'd be tempted to play Parker today and rest him against Swansea.

Friedel
Walker, Gallas, Kaboul, Benny
Parker, Modric
Bale, VDV, Rose
Ade

Rose is probably the only surprise pick in there but it'd give us our normal balance again having two pacy wingers and for me, Rose is a winger, I like his directness and willing to get into the box. Then again, I might have had a few too many glasses of mulled wine.

WALKER ON NORWICH:

Kyle Walker said his friend and fellow full-back Kyle Naughton is enjoying his time at Norwich – and the Canaries could give us a ‘real test’ on Tuesday night.

The Kyles joined us from Sheffield United in the summer of 2009 and while Kyle Walker has established himself in the first team this season, Kyle Naughton has been impressing in Norwich’s fine start to the Premier League campaign.

Paul Lambert’s men are 11th after the Boxing Day fixtures having lost just two matches at Carrow Road.

Right-back Kyle has played 16 of Norwich’s 17 matches so far but cannot us face us tonight under the terms of his loan.

“We speak a lot,” said Kyle Walker, who will be tearing down his flank at Carrow Road. “He’s said he’s enjoying it at Norwich.

“We’ll prepare as we normally do and hopefully we’ll get the right result. Norwich are doing well in the Premier League and if they continue playing how they are playing, they’ll give us a real test.”

Kyle admitted to a few nerves in Thursday night’s draw against Chelsea.

“It’s probably the first game where I’ve felt a little nervous,” he said. “That’s saying something because I don’t normally get nervous.

“There was pressure but with the players we’ve got, we don’t take too much notice of that, we play our game and it’s generally pays off.”

Greetings all - hope we all had a good Christmas!

Should be an interesting game tonight - Norwich will be no walkover (not that any walkovers exist anymore in the PL)

This Defoe injury is proving to be far more than annoying now - especially as it means we're having to turn to Pav - not exactly the ideal solution.

I really hope Kaboul comes through the fitness test - don't really want Bassong to be tasked with dealing with Holt...

Aside from that - it's the same old story at the moment with 'who to put on the other wing and where to put Modric?' Rose is worth a shout, as could be Townsend. I don't really want Modric on the right, so perhaps rest one of Sandro/Parker.

Tough game but, despite injuries and Norwich's form, I think we've got more than enough to get through tonight. That being said, we'll make loads of chances and miss most of them so I'm going for a 1-2 Spurs win.

16. Yeah, link please. Should be a good game, even for the neutral (although Stoke fans might need assistance in identifying which sport is being played)- two teams who have generally played 'the beautiful game' so far this season. Credit to Norwich in that respect.

Not necessarily.
That's our team, but they could line up differently.
A midfield three of Parker, Modric and Sandro with Bale and van der Vaart playing out wide is possible, for example.
