So iwas right re the many years bit

and the rest is made up

my 'criteria' was that there would have been a halfway point at some point. If something changed overnight its called a transformation

And the rest of it was false? You're rather dishonest in your answers, don't you think?

No, you said monkeys and humans share a common ancestor. Apes and humans share a common ancestor. <ok>

What are you defining as a species, as I'm guessing that you're not using the term scientifically?
Are you asking for dogs becoming cats, for example?

Because the creature that you're asking about has these qualities.
If you want an example of something else, then ask for something else.
Evolution does not suggest that the Vanara are possible.

And it's the perfect example of why you'll never accept evolution, speciation or indeed science.
You dismiss anything that might conflict with your religion out of hand.

You ask for fossils, you get fossils and you say, so what?

You didn't have a point, so I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.
Evolution does not predict the existence of magical talking monkeys.
Sorry.

A halfway point? What on earth does that mean? You said half monkey, half man. I take it that's what you mean. Which half out of interest, the top or the bottom?

Nobody disputed that evolution takes a long time, but where did you get 'the rest is made up' from?
I don't even know what 'rest' you're talking about, as you're being so vague.

I'll ask again.
Halfway between man and what?
Which ape?

Yeah, if you go far enough back, but I think you know the point I was making about the divergence.

<laugh> Bit rich coming from you. You obviously highlighted it because you though it supported your arguments. It doesn't.

I don't see your point. If you go back far enough in the tree of life, you could link human evolution with rather a lot of things. My point was that when these kinds of discussions occur people like Fan often post half man, half monkey comments, but the taxonomic family that is most relevant to this discussion is ape not monkey. I thought (as is pretty easy to do) that you were doing the same thing as Fan.

Are you serious?

Vānara (Sanskrit: वानर) popularly refers to a group of ape-like humanoids in the Hindu epic Ramayana who were brave and inquisitive by nature.

fits your skull pictures and evolution like a glove

I asked you for fossils proving he pe to man transformation, that picture doesnt do it. Nothing to do with religion. It just doesnt

As for talking monkeys, have we not agreed we will say apes? and if so it happened at some point and must have seemed like magic.

Thats all I said. It takes a long time for minor changes. The made up bit refers to 'we simply haven't been around long enough to observe.'

any ape, see the finches example I gave you in a direct response to what I meant by half way. As usual you ignore bits then say I am being vague/avoiding etc

I did indeed say it, but YOU were responding to HIM. He was denying thatuntil you proved it to him

I found that funny

I have since corrected, he still hasnt

Yes.

Also magical, mythical and shape-shifting.

What does?

You asked for fossils that show the evolution of ape to man.
You get them.
You don't accept them, anyway.
Entirely down to the fact that you'll never accept it and nothing to do with the evidence itself.

I was referring to the Varana.
Speech evolved too, so no, it wouldn't have seemed like magic.

In what way is that made up?

I don't ignore anything.
I ask for clarification, which you subsequently don't provide, as you've shown here.

Any ape?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_human_evolution
There's a timeline.
Pick something out and I'm sure that you can see the steps that follow.
If not, then ask.
