But I was told - Ryan Bertrand from chelsea on loan, "as good as done". Zamora is close to being done. Really wants to come to Rangers. Defoe is a 'long shot', but still a possiblity. Not ruled out. Samba is "numero uno target". Real efforts being made, and could happen. Only injuries at Blackburn (Dann) standing in the way. Bassong very likely, still. Nicky Maynard & Ridgewell are options from the NPC, up to NW if he wants to go on those, but he's interested. The lad from Spurs - Livermore? Loan. "very likely". Others possible too, a "list as long as your arm". (?!) The jist of it was, no f***ing about in january, we're being very "aggressive".
Bertrand and Zamora I can well believe. We were after Bertrand in the summer and Zamora's known to have been courting Rangers at least since the Fulham travesty...
Nothing there that seems that unlikely - so has the ring of truth to it. Seems possible we can deal with Chelsea - both clubs have been backpeddling to avoid personal slurs at management level. If Bertrand becomes a likelihood, it would be interesting to hear what Reading and Forest fans thought of him when he was on loan there Zamora's enthusiasm is consistent with previous reports The Defoe "long shot" seems more realistic despite Cerny Berny's confident assertions
Bertrand would be good reminds me of Kyle Walker. Liam Ridgewell would give a good account of himself, not a marquee signing but would improve us. Samba....Bassong YES PLEASE. Not sure about Zamora but would like to be proved wrong. Like Livermore but would he improve on what we have? Prefer Frimpong I think. Benayoun would be good for us too. Defoe most definitely. Still would like Nico Kranjar, pace and creativity. Harry has hinted that he would be available with Pienaar(?) not sure about him. Can't remember his name but Leeds have a very quick young lad on the wing. I know we don't particularly want a winger but if available who knows. Isn't it great that we are discussing players of this quality coming to LR. Happy New year to you all.
If it's Max Gradel you're refering to he signed with St. Etienne in the summer, but i agree he would be a good signing.

I'm loving the fact that we're linked with so many good players and also that Cerny B is rubbishing some speculations and others are rubbishing some of his. I'm not predicting who is right or wrong....but I can't wait for the resulting fall-out!!
Bassong is the interesting one for me. I thought the reason we didn't get him last time out was because Spurs didn't get Cahill. Now Cahill's off to Chelsea apparently, so surely nothing's changed there?
Some interesting names bandied about there, I've a feeling we'll land someone that no-one has even mentioned up to now and it'll be a big name to show a statement of intent. As many have said, what a change to be talking about players of this sort of quality...
QPRBeth...never say never...they may decide that they need to cash in on Samba to be able to buy other players.
