The whole 'big club' debate is so stupid simply because there's no set criteria.

As for Boum, LOL. I'm probably going to get flamed for this but after the nightmare he had against Everton where he took about ten minutes to trudge around the pitch to the tunnel after being sent off he actually bucked his ideas up and didn't do too bad. I remember he ditched the wristbands and tucked his shirt in for the next game when he came on as a sub

Boumsong made Bramble look like an accomplished defender

 

He started quite well for us as well in his first season. I don't know wtf happened in his second season though! He marked Rooney out of the Champions League quarter final for Lyon a couple of years ago, he is clearly a competent player on his day, so I don't know what went wrong when he was with us

I saw this and there are plenty of ways that you could term Villa a bigger club than us. But in terms of the context of the conversation about them being able to lure Ba, its utter fantasy. The big club debate is a bore anyway because there are so many issues to consider. History, recent history, trophies, current fanbase, historical fanbase, ground, european standing etc, its never ending. The bottom line is we look a better team than Villa this season with more realistic prospects of reaching the top 7. Why would Ba jump ship to a lower side who like us have a habit of selling most of their top talent over the last few seasons when the real big boys come knocking or the money is right? The difference being we look to have replaced them better than Villa have. I'm not having that Ba halfway through his first season (which is looking spectacular at the moment) is ready to jump straight to the highest bidder. If he moves I think quite rightly he'd have his sights set on a top 4 club. He looks a top 4 striker.

 

Hope Boumsong doesn't come back, he'll no doubt be **** hot for Villa and then we'll have to listen to twats like Graeme Souness going on about how the fans were responsible for him being crap before.
