Now I appreciate I'm looking at this through rose tinted glasses but the man must have walked under about 30 ladders. The man has luck it's just all bad. Opening day he scores against Sunderland only for the strike to be wrongly disallowed. Then, in every game since, he seems to force the opposition keeper pull off world class saves, or "worldies" as Merson says.
I'm not saying he's worth 35 million, I am saying that when one goes in a shed load will.

I agree that at times he's been unlucky, but I'm also begining to question whether he's worth the trouble anymore. Dont think he's going to cut it in the long run. Might be time to accept that he was a bad buy and cut our losses

    Not. Good. Enough.

The guy has no footballing brain and this is after a year of backing him to come good. I simply can't ignore his awful positional sense anymore and lack of effort/concentration/attention to followup shots or anticipate passes. He is simply not a natural goal scorer and seems to dim to be able to learn. I'm not buying this 'world class save' stuff after every game either.

At the start I blamed returning from injury, then moved onto lacking matchfitness or poor service. But after a year of watching him, I've simply come the conclusion that he's always in the wrong spot at the wrong time to have the slightest chance of scoring. Maxi/Suarez are more threatening in the air because they're intelligent players who pick up the right position and time their runs. Same is true for ground balls in the box. Carroll is not good enough. I hope we replace him in January for someone with a brain.

He has a nice shiner, probably fighting with the family over turkey yesterday. If he showed half the fight on the pitch it'd be a start. He's a 6ft odd striker and the amount of times i seen crosses coming in today and Andy was either outside the box or being beaten in the air ffs.

The only thing thats positive, is he has time on his side.Hes lacking confidence, not doing enough in the minutes hes gettin to deserve more minutes, which may lead to his form improving, doesnt work hard enough for the team, and apparently is a bad trainer. If we got a offer of £20m for him I think the club would snatch there hand off, buts no ones mad enough to do that. At this moment I just really cant see how he is EVER going to a success at Liverpool, but unless someone does offer us a deal we cant refuse, which they wont,we are lumbered with him

I disagree, the mans confidence is shot to pieces. I reckon with Suarez's ban coming up he'll get minutes and goals. The first will go in off his arse or left bollock, but after that the confudence will rise and we'll start getting some pay back.

I think is could have something to do with not wanting to be at Liverpool (although this is a stab in the dark.) Have no fear though, he will score a hat trick on Friday! :(

As much as I find LFC's Andy Carroll troubles a right hoot, I also find it baffling. I have not seen much of him this season nor have I seen much of Liverpool; but from what Liverpool fans are saying about him sounds nothing like the big Geordie number 9 we had playing at SJP. I cannot remember a single game where Carroll lost a battle in the air, even when he/the team played badly. He always created chances from nothing. This wasn't from confidence as much it was his determination and effort. Will have to catch today's game and have a butchers.
Any late evening 'pool posters watch him all the way through today?

Either way I still think he'll go onto great things, I just believe it will be when he is under a new LFC manager.

He's probably worried his alcohol collection will be stolen from his home when playing for the Pool.

He's loses 95% of aerial battles at Liverpool and he gets outmuscled off the ball against most defenders. He can barely control or pass the ball, let alone create his own chances. He's always dropping too deep instead of staying up top and waiting for something to come into the box, then when a cross does come into the box he's too slow in getting in there and the chance passes him by. Even when he does get a chance, he misses sitters, he missed three chances he should've put away today, two of them were from about 3-4 yards out and right at his feet. He's slow as ****, he has no technical ability whatsoever and he always holds onto the ball too long or takes up the wrong positions in the box.

No word of a lie, he's one of the worst players I've ever seen play for Liverpool, in about 11 years of watching us.

I don't think its fair to blame Kenny Dalglish for his troubles, either, as he's a manager who's got the best out of the likes of Shearer and Aldridge when he's managed them and you see how highly most players who've worked under him rate him as a manager.

Thanks, as that's as descriptive as I could've asked for. With regards to Dalgish; I will take your word as I haven't seen enough to have a real opinion. I just based it on not being able to comprehend how there could be such huge change in the game of a player without a massive difference in confidence levels and tactics.

Different style of play, the fact that Carroll clearly has no confidence in himself, that he doesnt fit in and the lack of passion he has for the club. The lads a Geordie his dream is the same as every Geordie lad, to play for Newcastle. He'd give his all for you guys cause thats where he always wanted to be
