Hey Sports Fans! It’s The Official CanariesSoccer Match Center for the ballgame featuring: HotSpurtz @ Canaries

    Live from The DeliaDome™.

Canaries are headed straight back into action after the festive break, taking on EPL high-flyers HotSpurz @ The DeliaDome™. Last time out, Canaries travelled to the Mid-West to meet Coach McCarthy’s Wolves Franchise, a matchup which ended as a Two versus Two Tiegame, although Wolves had a score-attempt rejected as the play-clock headed towards the buzzer. Canaries’ score-attempts were converted by A. Surman (upper body strike) and S. Jackson (from inside the six-yard-line).

Coach Lambert: “There don't seem to be any dull games involving us. The goals we're conceding are not great but we're doing everything we can to stay in the league. We were still trying to go gung-ho at the end. But I don't want to get admired and get relegated. I'd rather play ugly and stay in the league.”

After experimenting with a number of formations, Coach Lambert seems to have settled with the two-man-offensive-line, utilizing the size of G. Holt and S. Morison to soften up the de-fense, while Canaries’ wide-receivers drive deep into the opposition endzone. W. Hoolahan is expected to play inside the pocket, using quick footwork and short passes for optimum yard-gain, whilst defensive-linebacker D. Ayala may well make his first appearance after being discharged by the med-team.

HotSpurtz are currently third the divisional standings, five-points behind Red Devils in second, and two-points ahead of London Blues, although they have played one fewer matchup than both of those Franchises. Key to their success has been an attractive brand of fast-pace route-running combined with short, accurate, pass plays. The likes of midfield-linesmen G. Bale and R. V. Der Vaart epitomize their approach to the ballgame.

Coach Redknapp: "We are third and still have one game in hand. We're playing really good this season - you can see it in the big games, so it's going to be interesting," he said, “But there's still a long way to go. We have to keep on winning our games and then we'll see”

HotSpurtz will be the favourites to leave Norfolk State with all three points, and based on recent showings, the Canaries de-fense have immense improvements to make, both in terms of positioning and blocking. Coach Redknapp’s preferred off-fense consists of J. DeFoe and E. Adebayor, two world-class S-A-C’s, who will be sure to cause trouble to the rookie Canaries back-four. At the other end of the field, G. Holt and S. Morison will line up against W. Gallas and Kaboul, which will not be an insurmountable challenge.

This sure is going to be a great Soccer matchup, so fill up your Coca-Cola™ tankards, get your hot-dog's and grab a seat for this smash-and-grab matchup, brought to you exclusively on Not606!

At the other end of the field, G. Holt and S. Morison will line up against W. Gallas and L. King
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

King?...I don't think so, he's just done 2 games in 4 days. More likely to see Kaboul, who's been outstanding so far this season.

First time he's done that in 2 years or so I believe? King = best defender in the PL when fit.

Lads, lads please, this is a long held Norwich tradition, by CanariesSoccer, dating way back onto the old 606 site! It's a light-hearted bit of fun to be enjoyed by both teams as a meeting place for pre match banter, and on to a match day thread!

Are you really that totally lacking in humour in London these days?

    <cheers>

To be fair, you're new to the PL so it'd be prudent to see how we do things. A bit of fun it maybe...now you've explained, if the article opens up calling us Hotspurz, just what do you expect?

btw, Cockneys are in the East End...who's the COCK now?

Funny thing is, all the BIG teams in the league have enjoyed the banter and the thread! I guess Man U, Man C, Liverpool fans all possess enough intelligence to see the thread for what it is! A bit of fun! Seems that Spuds don't have any fun! Shame!

I've just looked at all of them, not once do you twist their name to read like ours has, let me spell it out as you just don't get it do you...

HotSpurz...why has he capitalised the 's'...it suggests Hot Spurts!!!...it maybe a pleasant way of introducing yourselves where you come from, but there again so's interbreeding.

I'm glad you put the doh smiley to yourself in your post, it saves me doing it.

My first ever match at whl was against norwich so I have fond memories of this fixture. Welcome back to the prem <ok>

Interesting take on a match thread but if that's how you like to do it then fair enough.

Spurs have also never won a league in that time, Norwich have won 2 and had 3 promotion seasons, I've had more fun in those seasons than Spurs will have had in 20 years of mid-table mediocrity. Enjoy your league position while it lasts because when you get some injuries to your key players your paper thin squad will find it's rightful place in the league. We are the most successful club in Norfolk whereas you're not even the biggest club in your postcode, I hope you take solace in the fact you'll never be as big, successful or classy as Arsenal.

Spurs highest top flight finish is 1st...what was yours then?

Further to being the biggest club in Norfolk Norwich are the biggest club in the whole east of England.

I no longer go to school but I got a C in my A2 at geography, I guess the geography of London isn't as high on the curriculum as you seem to think it is, but If their postcode is N7 and yours is N17 then you are both in the N postcode so I guess I was correct.

Congrats on doing nothing of note for 20 years YAWN
