Currently £270m in debt <yikes> with 2 owners who presently can;t stand one another & the fans can't stand either of them!!

They succesfully refinanced the debt owed to the banks.........however, a key part of that deal was that £100m would be paid by April to make the debt more servicable.

The clubs owners have been open to offers of investment for nearly 12 months with no takers. They are already out of the money spinning CL competition and all domestic competitions. The only chance they have of silverware & raising cash they've missed out through failure in the CL would be a run in the Europa.

They currently trail Lille 1-0 from the first leg, but with home advantage should start as favourites for the second leg.

Should they lose the tie expect the bank to come a calling <ok>

Any potential new owner would need an absolute fortune. The fans are desperate for a new ground (didn;t sell out the last 2 home games!!) & can offer very little on the pitch with Benitez in charge, however, it is believed he will be looking at a pay off of around £15m should they sack him <yikes>

I hope they lose to Lille & the bank bring them to their knees <ok>

I want the Premier League to implode simply because it's heightens the chances of them asking us to join to prop up the interest in it. Scottish football with no European prospects is depressing - and it's only going to get worse when we lose a Champions League spot.

Folk say they wont want us because the money is going......doesn;t make sense that. They are more likely to want us to spice up the EPL to bring the money back in!!!

They're desperate for something to keep the worldwide audiences. Barca are possibly the best side around & Madrid have spent ****loads on Kaka, Ronaldo etc, plus Spain are possibly the best national team around & the EPL are beginning to slip down the pecking order again.

They've tried bringing in an extra game, the playoffs but the clubs don;t want it. The clubs will all agree to some sort of change the next few years when the tv money starts to dry up.

would it come down to fifa even if it was approved by the EPL? tbh i dont really pay attention to much of the stuff about the OF going down south as i cant see it happening and it seems a bit pointless when it gets dragged up again every 18 months. as for the lack of the champions league spot i like to bury my head firmly in the sand on that one.

The Scottish game will take 20+years to improve.

Celtic & Rangers can do their part in youth development but the game needs revamping from grassroots & up. The fact that this is not being doen now suggests there are no real plans for it to be done & it will be too late to rectify it in our lifetime.

FIFA have already said they would not stop it. It was the EPL chairmen who turned it down, more chance of them approving it if the cash dries up & people get bored of the format.

The FA also said the clubs could join the conference & work there way up to the EPL.

    Scottish football is dead.

How can Celtic & Rangers impove the whole of Scottish football? You can try & develop young Scottish players and have that as your focus but Hearts & Hibs start getting cheap foreign buys to try & win the league then its pointless for teams to do that at the cost of the league.

Lets face it the clubs can;t agree that refs are **** <ok>

Celtic - UEFA cup final 2003.

Things looked like they were still good for Scottish Football despite the huge rise in foreign players, debts within scottish football.

The SFA must take the blame for not seeing the warning signs back when Celtic were debt ridden that major things needed to change to make clubs succesfull whilst spending within their means.

Instead Scottish Football used Celtic & Rangers as the signal as to how good the league was. Rangers UEFA Cup final again had the SFA thinking nothing was wrong - Scotland back on the footballing map & all that.

The 80's we were full of local footballers, Scotland, Ireland, England......then the 90's saw huge money being thrown about. The clubs do have some blame but they are geared towards winning cups, leagues etc its up to the SFA to sit down & look at the bigger picture.

That wont improve the league now.

That sort of rule should have been in force in the 90's when millions of pounds was being spent on foreign players. There's not much talent within Scotland because they were all forced down the pecking order hence so many are playing for Championship sides etc.

If anything you need to get Celtic & Rangers to spend their money in Scotland to ensure the money is being trickled through to the smaller teams. So the focus is on the smaller teams improving local talent too.

I'd love Liverpol to go bust - they think it is acceptabel to finish 4th each season! No ****in ambition. And scousers are cunst as well.

Hope the EPL- the self proclaimed greatest league in the world - implodes as well.

The homegrown rule would only work if it was applied to all UEFA clubs otherwise we would fall behind in Europe as most major European clubs now import players from all over the globe.

Which club spent millions upon millions on foreign players in the 90's? Which had a major impact on the next geneartion of local talent & the clubs finances!!!

Winning the SPL with homegrown players is different to competing in Europe which is where the domestic league is judged across the world & has an impace on tv money, investment etc.

There are not enough good Scottish footballers for every team to have 6 & do well.

Don;t get your point at all. I said it would take 20 years........where have I contradicted myself further on?

By the time that 20 years is here the SPL will be no better than the Welsh league.
