I'm not too sure about that. He was interacting with some of the players on Twitter the other week, so I don't think they've completely shut him out. I wouldn't say no to giving him another chance, but as long as he doesn't still rate himself above the club or anybody at it. He was great in his first half season, but he became a scapegoat at the beginning of last because of the poor team performances and results. Then again, if we just sold him on for a decent fee, I wouldn't be fussed either. I think that he needs a completely fresh start at a new club, not a loan deal. But, I think he could make a positive impact if he wants to. Look at how well he played in the Blackpool FA Cup game last season when he obviously wanted to impress potential new clubs - so, he has it in him. Watch this space I suppose.
Haven't read through the recent additions to this thread, so apologies if already posted. Looks like Blackpool could be preparing a bid. http://www.clicklancashire.com/spor...-fc-preparing-bid-for-southampton-winger.html EDIT: Get rid of De Ridder..? dear, oh dear. <shakes-head-in-bewilderment>
if he had stayed , kissed ass and some humble - then he would be first choice winger by now. I think he would now be second choice by club and fans to Chaplow who has suprised us all with his performances on the right
Evening all, read in the echo today that punch would possibly be up for a return to st marys and wants to wipe the slate clean. Keeping in mind that we are potentially light in the wide areas and forward areas (connolly injury, barnard out for 2 months) etc. Would the fans be open to a return for Punch. Personally, I liked him, granted he had bit of a mare last season, but to be honest, he has the potential to be outstanding, especially at this level. Providing Nigel agreed and they kissed and made up, I would be delighted to have him back on board.... Your thoughts......
Don't think it was Nigel he fell out with. Sadly for him it was the Don, meaning a first team return is highly unlikely.
He could be the wide player we need. Remember how Nigel revitalised Lambert during a time in which his confidence was low.
How do you know that though ? I know Nigel was very against recalling him from his loan last year, just seems a real shame but then if something untoward did happen, then I guess no chance of a return. The don isnt very forgiving though I would imagine!!!!
