Can't see Maynard being a target in January. But Cortese must surely be drooling at the prospect of getting him for NOWT at the end of the season. Any club would be mad to pay a pretty price just to secure his services for 4/5 months.
Depends, if the buying club think he could make the difference between promotion for the top champ sides and not getting relegated for the bottom prem sides, then the fee would be well spent.

Lot of silly rumours around but still think the realistic deal is Billy Sharp .Nigel admitted interest in the past and Sharp has alluded to an interest from us previously and Donny have said they will sell at the right price .This for me would be the best option all round and looking ahead.
i won't ant either. I want someone who wants to play for the club,not just to keep their fitness or to get into the england set up. We want players who want to play for us until they retire.
Defoe is a superb natural goal scorer who could be devastating alongside Lambert. I can't believe he would want to play for a Championship club, though; he's a self centered little a***hole who thinks only of himself. I don't think you either need or want someone who would unsettle what is obviously a closely knit squad?

Its the close season in MLS, Donavon joined Everton on loan and Beckham to AC Milan on loan during close season in the past

TBH I'm reassured more than anything. If West Ham have all that depth and still feel the need to go on a big shopping spree in January, it's obvious that something isn't working for them.
Is it obvious? As things stand, they'll be one point off of top spot. Seems like things are going pretty well to me. I personally don't think they will go on shopping spree, but if they do I think it will be more because of the ego's of Big Sam and the owners, rather than an actual need to spend. Even Lee Clark could get promotion with that squad.
