Ok, well I have not been to so many away games this season. I thought he was quite good at holding the ball up away from home, perhaps that was because teams were more physical and we were more direct?
Do you really think so? He may not have played well today but he was rather isolated. He is still young and he has good strength and pace. Why do you think he is so overrated?
Bloody ridiculous. They'd be better off getting one or two good players in and getting the squad to play together properly, for a real push next season. I feel it's not the best of organisation at Leicester City, with the exclusion of Nigel Pearson, who is their best asset, IMO.
Well that could hardly have gone any better. I thought Morgan was magnificent, and De Ridder wasn't too far behind. I'd suggest that they both had the best performance in a Saints shirt to date, at least at home any way. Not a single person played badly out there today, and in all honestly 2-0 flattered Palace. That said, I can see why Palace are doing well - just unfortunately for them, the way they play pretty much suits our style down to the ground. They played into our hands. Good to see Cardiff dropping points, and at least one of Boro and Hull will do likewise in half an hour. And then for West Ham.
Yeah, it felt like the Middlesbrough game. Probably because these teams are compact away from home, but we seem to cope well with those kind of tactics.
I think it's because away from home teams don't fear us. So play how they should play. At home teams fear us that's why you get the 8 men behind the ball crap. This in turn gives Guly more time on the ball to show what he can really do.
I agree that De Ridder had a good game today, and it will be good for his confidence. He also put in a good defensive shift. I've been to limited games, but I'm not so sure that Guly is lazy, not from what I've seen, and certainly not in front of goal.
Slightly annoying about Boro winning, looking forward to the Birmingham v West Ham match now - tough game for them Thought we were very solid today, can't remember Palace creating a proper chance. Schneiderlin was absolutely purring. Pretty dreadful atmosphere though
A draw between Boro and Hull would have nice, but I'm bothered that Boro won. Cardiff and, obviously, Hull both dropped points - not to mention Leeds, Brighton, Leicester (again!!) and of course Palace as well - and that's good enough for me. Will clearly be even better though if West Ham also drop points, though I don't expect them to. 8 pts clear of 4th. 12 pts clear of 7th. Another home game to come this week. I'll take that thank you very much.
Absolutely right, Spider MoM and a good shift from Steve De Rid. Lala was not at his best and Lambo took a nasty knock in the first half and was quieter than usual.
Just back from game. The good point is that we still look as good as at the beginning of the season, but now everyone tries to defend us out of the game and we find scoring harder. After a few draws I'm fearful when we are only 1.0. Jos looked good today. I can see why Guly is always on Adkins starting list, he is very effective although he always looks to me like he's breaking in a pair of legs for someone else. He's definately not lazy. de Ridder had a good game and chased after the ball if he lost it. His Dad should always attend every game as he brings out the best in his son. Back to winnning form, now onto Friday.
