Connolly's first touch and pass - straight to Lallana. Those two really know where each other are almost without looking up.

There's no doubt, he had a poor game against Pompey, but people who criticised Guly, to the point where they were suggesting he ought to be out of the team, could take a look at themselves and wonder when they are going to stop overreacting. It's the lot of a football supporter to overreact, so think and be different.

If Rickie scores I will get maximum points possible for the Saints game in prediction league. Predicted 3-0, Rickie to score and Saints to be 1-0 up at HT

Annoying how one goal has cost you 5 points!

Great result - on the subject of Guly I don't think people who criticised him for his derby performance should be feeling silly at all - but people who suggested he should be out the team will be left very red faced.

Nice, comfortable win...exactly what we needed. Another similar performance against Bristol City please, to end the year on a good note and provide a little distance heading into our tough January games.

A good performance today, perfect response from Guly and De Ridder and Schneiderlin also played well. Impressed with De Ridders work rate today, he tracked back well and was always a threat.

All Steve has to do is work more at his off-ball work and he find himself starting a few more games. Good performance from him today, I hear.

Gulys home form is great, his away form isn't. He is like a different player when he plays away from home. I would still start him on the bench for away games. Another great result today against a team that came for the draw. 8 men behind the ball most of the time, proves most teams fear us at our home.

He may have scored two goals but apart from that he did nothing and was his usual lazy self. Lallana again seems to be hitting a dry patch, but our defence was pure class didn't give them a sniff. I'll hold my hand up and say De Ridder played well today even tho I don't like him. His defensive work was class. End of the day Palace didn't bother us at all, they played the wrong tatics. The harder game will be against Bristol.

I would love to know why some people label Guly lazy because he does far more tracking back than some of our other players. Is it a perception of Brazilian football or just he is less popular?

Guly was superb away at Coventy, but probably is true that he's more of a homer, but could say the same about Lallana.

Very happy with a clean sheet and totally snuffing out Palace (who offerred little, but we didn't let them get their wide men into play much).

Another assist for Richardson, which I think makes 10 for the season. Great crosser of the ball.

Agreed our defence was class today, Clyne, Scannell etc didn't have chance to get into the game.
