So where does this forum go from now?

No spamming the boards (a la El Alonso King)

 

2) No Wum articles (fairly obvious)

 

3) No threads where the opening post only says 'fact'

 

The problem with expressing it like this, is that what exactly contributes a WUM article, and what is simply a controversial topic? I know in many cases its pretty obvious, but the rules need to be black & white to stop people moaning they've been warned unfairly. How about:

-No posting threads or comments which show an overly biased opinion without some sort of sound reasoning, facts or logic?

 

is FACT ok though (joke!)

4) No personal insults.

 

I know, I really didn't envy you having to moderate this at all! I don't mind trying to push things in the right direction by helping agree house rules, but I'd rather leave the day to day stuff to other people most of the time, its a thankless job, and a degree takes enough of my time in the evenings already!

 

I think an article where a user is delusional about the driver/team they like is acceptable. As long as they don't constantly spam the board with it, like El_Alonso_King did. The easy thing to do with people like him would be to merge all his threads together. I think scathing articles slating another driver should be pulled though, because they're obviously going to antagonise fans of that driver.

 

Can I come in, I dont think you need house rules, its never ending. You need two mods who know the sport and the feel of the board and its majority of members.

You then leave those two to act and interprate the feel of the members, dont jump on their backs if you dont agree, accept they are doing their best.

Help them by thinking about what you post and above all let the board flow with the minimum of moderating, you, the members self moderate by doing two things.

1. Ignore what you think is a wum or silly article or comment, a lack of oxygen kills a wumer stone dead.

2. If a particular poster annoys or upsets you, use the ignore facility, settings, edit ignore list and you never have to read their dross again.
Give me the two people you want and who agree to me mods, I will appoint them then its up to you, fight to support them and get the forum you want or fight each other and kill the forum.

Its your forum so its up to you.

Just did a few IP checks to make sure everyone suggested is kosher. Rather predictably they all were.
