With Cabaye back from suspension I'm quite optimist we'll be picking up all 3 points today. We may argue that we haven't been watertight in defence against weaker teams but Bolton are one of the worst of the league and on top of that their attack force is rather poor as well.
Based on our last performance I think I'd play Vuckic in behind Ba. Even though he couldn't keep up with his defensive duties I was still rather impressed with his shooting ability. And in the second half I'd bring in Ben Arfa who looks decent only against tired legs ...

Personally I would like Vuckic or Ben Arfa playing just behind Ba, but a comment on Leon Best:

I've just read the interview with Pardew on our strikers in the Journal today and that got me thinking, when was the last time Leon Best had a chance to score?

Earlier on in the season, up to around the end of October, when he was in form, even when Best wasn't scoring he was creating chances for himself and looking like on another day he would have scored a hatful. Now however, I can't remember the last time that he had a shot and I've thought to myself 'he should have scored that'. It's strange that he is no longer getting these chances.

Pardew will play obertan, he is our only natural right winger, we cannot play HBA on the wing as he will never help simpson and besides obertan is against paul robinson today surely he will get some joy today :/

    -------------krul ---------
-simmo---- colo--- willo (if ready)---- santon/raylor
    -------------tiote----- cabaye
    obertan------ ben arfa------ jonas
    -------------Ba-----------

Yeah I agree.Since the Stoke match he's been pretty poor like most of our players. Don't know if Trappatoni refusing to select him to play for the Irish squad has affected his morale ...

I remember Ameobi having a good game vs Chelsea 2nd half and played next game so surely Pardew should start Ben Arfa after the assist he got vs WBA. Don't want him to be on the bench, he still needs game time.

we need to stop our slump, I think we can beat bolton, sure they got their win against blackburn but blackburn are awful and they were not much better, ben arfa could destroy their team and if kevin davies plays we need willo to counter his aerial play and hope demba has his shooting boots on

"Pardew has indicated that he wants to find more “balance” in the coming weeks, which might open the door for Hatem Ben Arfa to come into the side and Newcastle to revert to the 4-4-1-1 formation used at Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium in November."

So no, we won't be dropping Demba any time soon. <doh>

Right, I'm quickly going on my Blackberry to say hope for a good game and no ****ing red cards for a change. I hope Bolton will win the game as I would, but I hope Coyle looks at other games than ones like the West Brom game, as Newcastle can, and have, do much better defensively so we should not relax one bit

Because we have Coyle as a manager, and we won the last game, I only expect two changes. Wheater (with Knight coming off) because he's back from suspension, and Robinson replacing the injured Marcos Alonso. Tacitcs should be the same as Blackburn, maybe a little tighter at the back to prevent the through balls from Cabaye making a massive impact. The passing we did against Blackburn will work against most sides int eh PL, we just have to be consistant.

If Acid Hippo reads this, I got the red shiny thing and you didn't because you didn't wait to the end of the hour. It only updates at 2:00, 3:00 etc..

I say once more, hope for a good game <ok>.

Think that the journalist just wanted to make an interesting article with a bizarre interpretation of Pardew's comments. What Pardew was trying to say is that is that he may change tactics to get Ba's striker partner more involved in goal scoring. And if Pardew is dropping Ba he wouldn't say

And anyway most teams in the PL are dependent on one or 2 players like Liverpool with Suarez , Manu with Rooney and arsenal with Van Persie...

Probably on firstrowsports, give it a while though probably, don't normally pop up until 15 minutes before the match
