Seeing that Hull 4 London 0 has resigned due to pressure who will take his place? I understand that cyprussydsafc and Mick are discussing where to go from no with this forum.

    Moderators:

    Jose Lorca 3rd Feb - 17th Feb

    Hull 4 London 0 24th Feb 1st Mar

Thanks Hull sorry that you had to go some idoits cost us you.

Anyway anyone wanting to put forward thier candidincy for Moderator for the F1 Board please feel free to post here and bring a little intro about what you could do to make this forum better.

I would recommend El_Bando he is a wonderful example of a mature Alonso fan who would be great for this forum.

Other people that would do well:LaptopBrain, AbsoultelyGloruios and MannyF1MSC

I wouldn't mind doing it, but Laptop, AG, Manny and El_Bando would be better. I didn't answer to it though, cause it'll look like i have a big ego, which i don't!

EDIT: it would have been better to list all the regulars, and see who everyone wants

El_Bando would get my vote (assuming he wants it). Sensible poster, on here regularly, doesn't get involved in petty rows and doesn't have any personal beef with other users. <ok>

I wouldn't be surprised if Mick and Syd decided to close the board though.

I wouldn't mind being a Mod myself, as long as there were a few of us. This board generates too much hassle for me to want to do it alone.

I think the place needs two moderators to keep things in check. I'd happily have a go at moderating and i know I would be fair to everyone. People make mistakes so all it needs sometimes is a warning, serial wums would need banning however.
On the bad side as you can see, I have only made 50 odd posts and I am fairly new here so it's whether I am trust worthy enough, Would I trust someone as new as me without knowing them, I'm not sure.

I agree, maybe Nick would have carried on if someone else was recruited along side him....

Not AbsolutelyGlorious, he's a filthy mag!!

(only joking! I'd be more than happy any of them as mod, they all seem level headed and fair)

To be completely honest, I'd like Nick to come back and be moderator again. Things were moving forward with him. If that is not possible, someone like AbsolutelyGlorious would do a good job, but he's moderating the Newcastle board already. El_Bando being mod sounds like a good idea, but not sure if he wants to do it.

I think the ideal solution would be to have Hull 4 London 0, AG, and possibly someone else doing it together.

To be honest, we wouldn't need a mod if everyone could just be civil to each other, and not instantly take offence to comments that disagree with their opinion.

But to be realistic, you'd need 2 or 3 mods to control some people who seem to be here to argue. Whoever moderates, they shouldn't feel under pressure to live on here 24/7 to stamp out the inane comments. We could just do with everyone agreeing to be nice!

Could we not have a code of conduct for this forum on a poll? Just a straightforward list of things that people on this board should adhere to, and we agree by selecting an option on the poll? If a mod has evidence you have broken the code, you get a warning, 2 warnings are a 24hr ban, 3 strikes and you're out of here? Obviously I'd allow some sort of time consideration, if people make a mistake once every 2 months, it'd hardly be fair to boot them out, but you get the picture.

EDIT: Following on from this. Could you make the forum password protected, and you only receive the password once you have agreed. This could be done as either a PM from a mod, or, if we want to get clever with the poll, create a poll, where results are only available once you have voted (if possible) and once you have said yes to the rules, then the results page displays the password (perhaps as the username of a new account which was the first to agree to the rules?)

I didn't realise Nick had resigned.

AG, F1McLaren, DHCanary or BrightLampShade, ElBando would get my vote. Nick should give it another go but it's too much for one person to take on so if somebody else supports him and maybe they can chat through decisions before making them.

Merging threads for example just because they mention Alonso probably wasn't the right way to go - there are going to be loads of Alonso threads for different reasons which should stand alone.

I agree, I'd be happy for anyone who's commented on this thread to do it. It's just how to deal with the odd idiot who just exists to antagonise people.

AG, you would be my first choice as a mod, along with El_Bando, but you have the Newcastle forums, which is quite a shame.....

I like the sound of the house rules. Plain and simple but hopefully effective.

I can imagine. I wouldn't mind if it was just sticking the odd thread, but I imagine every morning you log in your inbox is full of he said/she said crap.

Yeah I wouldn't want two modding jobs full time. I wouldn't mind helping out when I'm on here though, as a sort of secondary mod if there were a couple of main moderators who were here most of the time.

Honestly get some house rules and you'll be fine - people have a benchmark then.

606 biggest reason for moderation problems was because of libel and because the moderators were not F1 fans. Both are covered off here.

Two people doing it should keep it well covered. I wouldn't do it again because it tests my patience too much, like Glorious says you find yourself reading the most petty crap you can imagine all the time.

Ok, so lets all post some house rules and we can get a draft together of what we're going to all stick to.

    To get things going:

    1) No Racism.

If people post a suggestion you disagree with, can we please have a reason why it wouldn't be a good rule, and maybe suggest a better one? (I know thats obvious to most people)
