The problem is they might accept the bids. There's only Schmeichel and a couple of midfielders we could take that risk with. Beckford by the way we couldn't sign until the summer, he's played for Everton and Leicester this season already so he can only make emergency loan moves now.

When you take a player on loan with a permanent agreed at the end, is it possible to sort out the contract and submit all the documents at the time of the loan to ensure no party backs out of the agreement? Or is it more of a gentlemans agreement where each party has to trust one another to stick to their word?

He can still move to a third club if it's administered by a different FA, can he not?

Not that any would want him.

I'd consider a bid for Nugent, no one else.

Off the top of my head he could go to Northern Ireland, a Scandinavian league, or the MLS because they're now in ther close season, so when he came to play for them in February/March he wouldn't have played for anybody that season (I think they still need to apply for dispensation). But for any July-June seasons he'll still have already played for 2 clubs this season, Fulham had the problem a few years back when they tried to sign someone in January who'd already played for a French club at the start of the season and then joined Rangers.

I would assume it was possible because in October you can sign a player on an emergency loan and have the permanent transfer agreed in advance for January. The only difference here would be the condition of promotion before the paperwork was activated. We could certainly submit a loan deal where Sunderland had to agree to an offer of £x if we made it before say the end of June. You'd be relying on Turner to sign the contract then, but if he'd changed his mind you wouldn't want to be forcing him to join us at that point anyway.

No, but you can get special dispensation if you're Liverpool.

I do work at Warton but never worked at Brough. There's a few Tigers fans in the village actually, makes me feel more at home that's for sure.
