I agree we need a new CB but I'm pretty sure Carr will already have a list of players that are apt without buying big like you suggest. Out of your suggestion and trusting Carr, I know who I'd side with.

  2. Yes but we also would be relying on them to get used to the league quite quickly. Samba knows the league and is proven in the league. He's a very strong and reliable CB. He has his faults, but he's the best replacement for Saylor IMO.

No I'm not saying that transferring to another club in the same league is easy, but at least Samba knows the league and is used to it, and he speaks pretty good English too.

This is just my opinion but Samba would be an awesome signing, and seeing as quite a reliable source Mark Douglas reported it, I believe it's a very possible it could happen.

Samba would cost a fortune Tash. We won't go for him.

  4. Totally mate, I'd trust Carr over you as well you fat ****. But I'm pretty sure Samba would have been considered by the club. He's at a club that's pretty much already relegated, and I'm pretty sure would love an escape route. We call players that leave clubs when they need them total ****s, but that's just how football works. Other clubs did that to us, so lets not give a **** about other clubs needs either. Most players would jump ship to another club if they were in the same position as Blackburn are.

  5. I heard Blackburn wanted 10m? Hardly a fortune, and he's well worth it IMO

The scouts and management do take into account whether a player will be able to adapt to the league, for example they knew Tiote's combative style and physical attributes would be perfect for the league. If we saw a player like Coloccini now, I doubt we'd sign him as it's clear he was used to a far different style of football and we're only benefiting because we gave him so long to adapt.

  7. Agreed. But despite Tiote being great from the start, he still made mistakes due to the change of league. He sometimes did really dangerous death turns to deep into our half and tried to dribble his way around the box, and I remember quite clearly it leading to us conceding a goal vs Blackburn at home in the first 2 mins last season.

But I get what you mean mate. I just hope we get one in soon and that we don't spend too much time faffing on. I'm hoping we'll have one for the QPR home game.

God I hope we get ourselves sorted soon because our games vs Liverpool and Mnaure are on tv and they could be embarrassing for us.

I personally blame Pardew for our loss vs WBA. Tactics totally wrong. A high line against Odemwinge and Long is like offering the other team the win. It's like when Chelsea and Arsenal both played high lines against each other, and the final score could have been about 10-10.

The reason for the high line is we didnt have a centre back who could win headers. Should have played much deeper though, and with Williamson instead of Perch though. He actually played OK but their strikers were so much quicker than our defenders. We'll be better when Willo returns and we can sit back like we're used to.

Awful idea. Didn't work out well last time we did that.

He plays in the same position as Coloccini, why would you sign him? [eople underestimate how hard it is to change from LCB to RCB, especially if you're left footed like Vertonghen. Look at how disastrous Terry was there when he played there for England against Germany.

And even then Vertonghen isn't as good as people make out, IMO from watching him a couple of times. He's very good and comfortable on the ball but tends to give it away in silly areas at times and he's not that great physically and would get bullied by some of the centre forwards in this league.

We aren't going to spend a fortune on a player who could possibly be third choice next season. So unless we buy a player who is extremely versatile, like Vertonghen, then we are going to look at cheaper alternatives.

people might not like it but its smart to buy players with sell on value.. sure we could go and buy a 20 - 25mill player, he has a first rough season and suddenly 10 mill is knocked off his price tag then its an uphill battle too keep that value. if they are a flop we need to move them on and the we will likely lose a lot of money.

i think its stupid to suggest splashing a huge sum to get a player when we are so close to financially stability and being self sufficient. why blow all that work out the window and potentially put us back into collecting debt so the fans can have a big money signing?

we are using SCOUTS believe it or not, and ours are very efficient.. no point buying a "messi" at full value when you can get the next messi for 3 maybe 4 million.
