    I never claimed to. I quoted the press, who generally do. Papers like the Daily Telegraph don't just produce these figures from thin air. They have contacts within football clubs, football associations and circles of well-informed people in the game. Are you seriously doubting that your club pays unsustainable wages?

    Never heard of him. Why is he more reliable than the national press?

    You've paid transfer fees which are unpredecented, and therefore wrong for the reasons I highlighted above. You're paying wages which even the stupidest person has the intelligent speculation abilities to know exceed the FFP 60% threshold which is soon going to be imposed.

    What does your omniscient contact say is being paid to these players? And just because a club has a wage structure doesn't mean it's not still paying huge money. 40k might be their upper limit, but that's still an upper limit too high for this level.

    Andy is the guy who is Head of Football Operations at Leicester. He sorts out every single transfer in and out of the club as well as talking to and finalising deals with players and staff.

    So yeah, a tad more reliable that people who want to sell a story <ok>

    My 'omniscient contact' is saying that whats being spent is nothing like the press say it is. He mentioned a wage structure that won't be broken and this was placed after Yakubu was on 25k p/w last year after the owners told him it was too much for this league and they would happily increase (to whatever we wanted) that when we're in the PL. I asked him how much it was lowered to and he said he couldn't tell me, but it was still significantly lower.

    I assume it's on around 20k p/w. Which I also assume is the wage for Mr. Beckford and Mr. Mills who are both players we had to pay over the odds for to get them to come into (or stay in Mills' case) the great league instead of the Prem.

    The FFP rules can come into action, but there are so many loop holes I don't think it'll be in place for a good 4/5 years, by which time I think we both agree we'll be promoted.

    <doh>

    I havn't said anyone has taken pay cuts.

    Mills was probably on about 5kp/w last season.

    Now he's on around 20k with us.

    I'd wager that Beckford was on around 15k last season and is now on 20k with us.

    <doh>

    As i've said millions of times, stop with your constant flow of pure ****e. You clearly know nothing about our great club.

    Beckford was on £35,000 a week at Everton.That's what he said.
    Nugent was on £40,000 a week at pompey,that's the amount he said clubs would have to match for him to move.
    you are clearly very deluded.<doh>

    He is on 38k a week. Fact. My source is an ex employee of the club under Sousa who knows his stuff, and people at the club.

    That wasn't a comment from me by the way, that's from Foxes Talk a few months ago. The funny thing is, back then, no-one was questioning it, they were all just raving about how much more they were spending than anyone else. Funny how times change.

    Mills is also listed on there as being on £30k a week.

    After a simple search through the forum I was unable to find that quote <doh>

    You won't get me to change my mind, I know what Andy told me.

    Edit; <doh> Forgot to put quotation marks around it. Turns out someone did say that. I'd rather trust the guy that sat next to him while he signed the contract though <ok>

    Your wage structure seems to have dropped dramatically in the last two months...

    I'm not sure how you can say thats money grabbing either as he was on 40k p/w at Everton and we have a 35k p/w wage structure here.

    Yeah, that was before he'd told me <ok>

    I;d heard someone on FoxesTalk say that (who used to be quite accurate with transfer goings on).

    Having recently seeing Andy he told me what i've said in this thread.

    You can continue to laugh and not believe all you like.

    I don't need to prove myself, I know what he told me and i'll believe him <ok>

    Oblige me AKCJ and pray tell us how you know this Andy fella.

    Because I've got information from inside LUFC before thanks to a family friend who works for the club and the last thing I'd want to do is post that sensitive information on an internet forum. If my contact ended up reading it, I'd look like a momumental cock. It would sort of ruin the whole trusting relationship thing.

    And isn't this Andy being highly unprofessional by passing on private information like that? Surely that's something for the club to settle with the press rather than for someone to leak to his mates, or however else you regard him.

    I've known him through family friends. Met him on numerous BBQ's/Birthdays/Partys ect.

    <ok>

    All he's told me is wages are below Yakubu's (25kp/w) and that the transfer fees we've paid are nothing like the press have made them out to be.

    I met Charlize Theron at a party once, she didn't know the wages of any of your players.

    Thick cow.

    They will get around the financial fair play rules by investing all the money through the sponsorship deal. All they have to do is crank up the money going into the club through the sponsorship deal and it technically counts as money made by the club.
