Its a story about the stewards using headcams to monitor crowd behaviour at the Lane. If it weeds out trouble makers then i'm all for it, of course its the bleeding heart human rights brigade again. It's no different to the CCTV except its mobile. Any thoughts?
Read this earlier today and thought I had misread the argument that the SF were making...... A totally ludicrous pov from an organisation that should surely have spectators interests and safety as a primary concern. So what if stewards have headcams? Anything that prevents a return to the aggro of the 70's and 80's is just about fine with me.
They'll be asking next for all the crowd's privacy to be protected by blurring out their faces. Ridiculous nonsense. Is that all they have to worry about?
It's about privacy, not human rights. And please don't be so quick to give up your privacy and liberty. Once they're gone, you're not getting them back. Everyone likes a bit of privacy, some more than others. I don't want a faceless company tracking me and my whereabouts. I don't want them to tell ten of their faceless mates where I've been and with who. What business is it of theirs? I've done nothing wrong; why film me doing so? Don't make me out to be a potential criminal because that's untrue, rude and offensive. In the name of Safety! Can't let the Terrorists win! *****s on every street corner! For all those who have 'nothing to hide' - please post your real name, address and phone number below. Merry Xmas.
Will fans get prior warning about being filmed, so blokes like Yid Vicious can make sure their hair and make-up's right?
I must admit, I'm with Inda on this one. There's virtually no crowd trouble at games now, the clubs have a host of our personal information anyway and they have a good idea who's in each seat, so is this really necessary?
Maybe all Chelsea fans will start wearing Cech masks, although that would give them more identity than they have now.
They're worried about what happened to a bunch of people wearing headcams 25 years ago...
I'd have to boycott the games, the camera adds 10 pounds and the Puma kits are unflattering enough as it is Edit: *shirt, not kit. I don't go to games in the full kit hoping to get a game if someone's injured..
I sympathise with the concerns shown, but where do these end? Sky routinely show people in close up at the ground, often embarrassingly crying, whatever. This is allowed, no way is consent given as these pictures are often shown live. Sky presumably have permission as part of our contract with them via the clubs as we enter their stadiums? Indeed do they need permission, is it illegal to film people or not? Of course it can definitely be illegal to do illegal things with those pictures.
I disagree with Inda and PNP, you have it in a nutshell GH...if you don't want to filmed anywhere including CCTV, an accepted part already of modern day life...don't go...your choice...its as simple as that.
Yep NSS, I'm afraid worrying about headcams is a bit stable door, horse bolted. I'm not at all happy about the crackdown on 'terrace language'. As a child of the terraces I love a good ****ing swear up, me But these days I try to keep my language under control, it's the way it is. I've never joined in the Sol Campbell, Arsene Wenger type songs, and am very happy if I never hear those type of songs at the Lane again. If people want to sing songs like that, that's up to them, but they shouldn't be surprised if they end up in trouble.
