Nigel hasn't made dramatic changes to the line up all season and I don't think he will start here, same team as v Portsmouth if injuries allow.
The bookies are running scared of our record at home. That said about time we hammered some-one and Palace will do! I remember them coming to the Dell under Venables in the early eighties being talked up as the next big thing. We annihilated them that night!
If one of Chaplow and Connoly is available to start, then I think they'll replace Morgan. If they are both available, I think they'll replace Morgan and Guly. But other than that, same side as per the Pompey game.
Have to be Honest I will be satisfied with a Point , injuries are starting to kick in & Mrs jasper is going to the game .......... Just cannot see us winning it .
We are both showing our age but your memory is better than mine! Brilliant game though! Lets hope foe the same again on Monday. COYR
Speaking on 4-1's, I remember that opening game against Palace a few years back, when, ironically for recent times, Bialkowski had a 'mare. Scowcroft(?) scored a hat-trick I think. If you look at when we've lost at home under Adkins (or nearly in the Blackpool case 2 weeks ago), then it's always been down to a mistake. Brentford won 2-0 in Nigel's only home league defeat - a Super Kelv mistake, Man United won 2-1 in the FA Cup - a Ryan Dickson mistake, Blackpool NEARLY won a few weeks back - a Bart mistake. So, basically, as long as we don't make any errors, we usually win
It wasn't all Bart's fault though (unlike Blackpool). Alan Bennett hardly excelled that day in front of Bart. What a signing he was.
Bennett gives me nightmares still, him and Jackobsen :s. Tomorrow will be tough and it seems Palace do better away from home, where they keep things tight as Adkins said, however Middlesbrough tried this approach and failed. I think the key is to get an early goals; if it is 0-0 or we are behind we may struggle as some fans are rather impatient these days... A goal will inspire confidence. As for team selection, I would not be surprised to see Harding starting and if fit Chaplow with Schneiderlin and Fox dropping out.
Why are people saying about dropping Guly. One of only a few players that sprints 110% of the time when on the pitch. NA is not about to drop him when he an influential player off the right
There is a big dirty rumour Chaplow has twisted the same knee again in training! Comes from a guy who is said to know a someone on the trainer/physio team! I am hoping its a load of rubbish as he has not mentioned it on his twitter account?
In their last eleven league games, Palace has just six goals scored, and all of their wins in that span came with 1-0 scorelines. Going to go with 2-0 Saints, a first half goal for Lallana, and a late one from de Ridder to salt it away.
All of you lucky people attending i hope its a great game and i predict 3 1 saints . Sadly cant attend my father in law was admitted to hospital before xmas he is a pompey man but a lovely old boy all the same added to that my wife is unwell so i am holding the fort looks like solent for me enjoy the game wish i were there.
Get over it, why should they tell us anything? Don't forget, anything they put out on Twitter or on the OS will be seen by the opposition as well. Why shouldn't they keep quiet about injuries and so on?
Let's hope your crystal ball is working old mate. Fingers crossed that the "old boy" and the missus are on the mend and all goes well for you and your family in the New Year.
