Ah, that well known sporting journal, America's very own Sports & Stars! They clearly lifted that from the Metro, which doesn't state anything other than their own thoughts.
"Are thought". Nothing concrete, as the details weren't revealed. Arsenal made a big fuss about Arteta taking a cut to £55k p/w, so which is it? Are Arsenal paying Benayoun more than Arteta or are Chelsea subsidising it? A link to someone's thoughts at the Metro. http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ty-s-charity?p=1923273&viewfull=1#post1923273 "Loans shouldn't be allowed between teams in the same division. It ends any conflict of interest problems." http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ty-s-charity?p=1924212&viewfull=1#post1924212 "As I've already said, loaning players between clubs in the same division shouldn't be allowed."
As PNP said earlier there shouldn't be any loaning in the same division, which I agree with.Spurs took advantage of an oportunity when it arose.Would any other club not have done so,I doubt. If you want to blame someone blame ManC for completely f****** up the league with silly money. Also I have to say this, Chelsea fans can't argue to much as their owner has thrown a large fortune at the club. Spurs may have benefitted but what do you want us to do,say sorry "we can't keep him as he's helping us win games and that's unfair".LOL. The whole system needs changing but while it's in place teams will take advantage of it.
Your club doesn't reveal such information, so any 'thoughts' from Metro staff are clearly unreliable. Do you think that Arsenal are paying Benayoun substantially more than Arteta?
But it is impossible to say if we are in a better position with Ade or without him,who knows who we would have bought if the Ade deal wasn't on the table. All this is speculation really,no one knows.
Or he was on £75k pw and took an indeterminate cut. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14739185.stm Or he was on £70k pw and took a £10k pw cut. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...kel-Arteta-takes-pay-cut-to-join-Arsenal.html Or he was on £75k pw and took a £20k pw cut. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...kel-Arteta-admits-Arsenal-good-turn-down.html Looks like you picked the only report that suits your claims and ignored several others which didn't, actually. When? He moaned about loan players not being able to play against their parent clubs and clubs not balancing their books, as far as I can remember. Did I miss the one about subsidised loans and did he forget Wilshere's?
You seem to have missed the point entirely. There are numerous reports and they all use completely different figures. They're utterly unreliable. You've also missed the point about Benayoun appearing to be on a higher wage than Arteta at Arsenal. Sounds unlikely, doesn't it? Probably because you're not paying all of his wages. What happened to the bit about Wenger moaning, too?
And as I've clearly demonstrated, it's totally unreliable and probably made up. The Daily Mail story that I linked to, above. Apparently not, as you asked Arteta to take a big cut. If you think that you can, then it follows that you weren't prepared to. If you weren't prepared to pay Arteta's wages, then why would you be prepared to pay Benayoun's? Yes. We're not prepared to, though. It would be a bad move financially, especially when we don't have to.
In fairness to PNP,Arsenal never publish wages or transfer fees paid or received so they are just conjecture
Yes I'm sure Harry would but as I said before we saw the opportunity and took it.No one can blame us for that, blame ManC. We only really struggled for goals in the 2nd half of last season.
I used it to illustrate that the reports were all contradictory and therefore unreliable. I'm not sure how you're missing the point here, SNIAW. If you were unwilling to pay Arteta's wages and asked him to take a pay-cut, then why would you be paying Benayoun's full wage? He's older, he's on loan, there were doubts about his fitness levels and he's a squad player who was probably on a higher wage than Arteta at Chelsea. More than likely? Not even close. We clearly don't have to, as we're not. Whether that can continue in the future or not remains to be seen, but it appears to work throughout the rest of our squad. As Arsenal don't reveal wages, you're just saying that Arsenal are immune to criticism on this issue, because of arbitrary rules that you've selected. Ridiculous.
We don't know for certain that Arteta took a pay cut.For all he know he could be on higher wages at Arsenal than he was at Everton
None of us know what is happening with regard to Yossi's wages and in all honesty we can't be 100% certain about Adebayor's
You all sound like Cry-babies. If Adebayor wanted to come back to the Emirates tomorrow I'd get him in a heartbeat. Still a proven striker who could easily back-up RVP.
