I watched Bunyodkor play in the Asian Champions League on Eurosport once. Pretty dull game as far as the football goes and it ended 0-0. However, Rivaldo was sent off for karate-kicking an opposition player in the chest. Probably explains why I remember the game so well.

Also, Bebe to Man United. Mental.

Anyone signing for Everton must be classed as strange given their lack of spending.

To be fair they are a good team regardless of their spending .. always there or there about most of the time.

Patrick Klivert signing for us was pleasing, but very surprising.

A note on the OP. My mate from Madrid reckons that Gravesen was one of the best defensive midfielders to play for Madrid. In fairness my mate is mentally unstable and is a thug when we play in the futsal league.

Anyone remember the mad rumours about Ronaldinho joining the toon in his prime? I remember reading a story showing a picture of him and Freddie Sheperd's son leaving a club. and that was think. I believed it was true and got very excited. Also remember rumours that we were very very very close to getting Rivaldo?

Pretty sure someone posted a BBC article on here recently about us signing Rivaldo, it was from 2002. The article was from before the World Cup but after playing a key role in Brazil winning the tournament, Milan became interested and that was the end of that. :(

Not really he was starting to look past it and him and Bobby were both at Barca (though not at the same time). Think Kris Boyd signing for that Turkish team was odd.

Ah i thought so! I remember something like that. I convinced a few of my mates in school (year 6) that they should support Newcastle cause of Rivaldo as well!

Was it a Greek team or a Turkish team that Matt Derbyshire joined? That was strange.
