http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-16309990 this will simply not end so someone will post it. Barnes is right in one thing... hatred in all forms is a human failing and if it isn't races some other insult is found. I do feel his view is from the outside so we cannot say he's any more right than the rest of us wondering what the evidence was
He's done the right thing for the club, and reveals the nonsense of the whole 'racism' claim. A white person COULD NOT have made his points and been listened to without being called racist, which is why he's come out with the comments himself. He's right too. Good on him.
The IRONY of the whole thing i, the FA/Media by refusing to accept the language and cultural differences are in fact proving THEY are the Xenophobic ones, who are not able to adapt to people of other nationalities and races
he was my hero as a kid.... i guess i never understood the things "adults" of the period did and said to him. today we are the "adults" and we can't understand the PC world of today. Perhaps our kids will finally be the ones who don't have chips on respective shoulders and can say "white" "black" "coloured" etc and neither give or take offense. hopefully that will because people will have equality.
The Cultural Imperialism of the FA committee in ignoring the lingusitic and cultural differences between England and Uruguay speak volumes for the middle class idea of "We know better than you." arrogance. Barnes' words are honey to the reasonable and vinegar to the FA's adherents and the partisans who just want to see Suarez leave English shores. There has been an underlying sense that the FA has wanted to see the back of him since before he arrived, and God knows how many 'fans' have commented on how his World Cup handball and biting a player meant he shouldn't be playing in England. But both those incidences have been dealt with by the respective governing bodies (FIFA and Dutch FA). Anyone saying they'd not handle on the line and give their team a chance to play in the World Cup final, even if their ban would mean they missed out, well, frankly, they're lying. I can't think of one man who wouldn't sacrifice himself in that manner for his country if needs be. And the bite? What went on before that? I've never seen it said anywhere? Although not an excuse for it, what was the provocation?
