Not being a card carrying Celtic supporter I tend to stay away from this but just one thing. Just because Lennon does not support the GB does not mean he is not a Republcan. My Uncle is a season card holder from Belfast, he was no stranger to Long Kesh. He is furious with those that continue to sing about the IRA. Not because he disagrees with the sentiments but due to the fact that they are harming the club he loves. He travels from Belfast to Glasgow every morning for home games and attends many away games too. His position is that these people know that to continue singing these songs harms the club. Simple as that. He also thinks that most of the GB couldn't spell Ardoyne let alone point it out on a map.
I perhaps phrased that incorrectly CA, i've no doubt that if he was a Republican then he probably still is, much like myself (Scottish Republican in my case), and the points you have made are simply the same points that I have been making all along. For anyone to continue singing songs that mention the IRA (any songs) will only harm the club. I don't care if he does have Republican sympathies because at the end of the day he is the Manager of Celtic and he has to put them first. In this case he is doing just that. We are not at odds here, just coming at it from different angles
